Kuch Ankahi and the episode belongs to Alia for all the right reasons!
Finally, we get a working girl who’s the right balance of common sense, brave, practical & smart.
Raising your voice, breaking things or slamming the door hard will not make the problem go away, or make it right!
Kuch Ankahi
Thank you, writer Mohammed Ahmed, for some insightful writing there.
Here are 5 Reasons Why We Feel The Episode Belonged To Aliya!
1. She’s Come Full Circle With Salman
Aliya had tried to explain things to Salman but met with attitude, silent treatment and resistance. She then carried on with the business of living rather than mourn the loss of a person who was being unreasonable, and hence, went ahead and told Salman like it is too, giving it right back & also taking control of the conversation when she says she’s too tired to talk at the moment.
Her presence, self-assuredness & self-respect added value to her character every second of that brief interaction. Aliya’s made her journey to the other side for sure & emerged stronger!
2. Tears Can Mean Courage Too
That conversation with Agha Jaan over a late dinner echoed the vulnerability, yet strength of a determined young woman. Her tears did not show weakness, but rather, true grit. We love the narrative her where Aliya retains her inner strength yet her endearment as well. there will be tough moments, yes, moments when we want to desperately give in to self pity too, to give up on the lone fight we wage, but this is the very moment Aliya shows what she’s made of, echoing the struggle of many young women.
For all the Aliya’s who struggle proudly for their families, this one’s for you!
3. When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going!
I have no option to even consider the possibility of losing my battle, responds Aliya. They say, “The finest steel has to go through the hottest fire.” Aliya’s journey is just that – her struggle is so inspiring, emitting a raw kind of feel to her battle… sometimes, just standing your ground, seeing the battle through is also a win by the way – knowing that we tried and gave it our best shot!
4. The Pakistani Drama Heroine Who Refuses To Get Flustered By An Intimidating Hero
Aliya goes on to stand her ground before the intimidating Azfar, believes in her decision & convinces a tough opponent that it might just work – powerful negotiation skills is good business sense, it sets the winners apart. Aliya shows us how it’s done! In fact, she calms the rage inside Azfar by presenting him with practical solutions. For one of the very few times, a Pakistani drama heroine’s journey gives hope. She is not flustered by the constant barrage of obstacles thrown her way, rather, she is growing stronger with the challenges she faces. Again, sharp and thought provoking writing there.
5. Women Supporting Women
Again, Aliya’s journey is supported by the women around her. Especially her professional journey has Sehrish by her side, which is such a relief. Aliya has her father of course, the ultimate support system, but also her family of women who applaud her struggle. They might not think she can do it, but they let her try. Even Shammo, the matriarchal shadow who doesn’t really understand what Aliya is about much, does not prevent her from trying. And isn’t that what all women need at the end of the day? The space to be able to put their grit, determination, skills and belief to the test – Aliya gets all that and presently, she is excelling at the game!
Aliya’s journey just made us super hopeful for the future of Pakistani Drama Heroines! Looking brighter than ever before, and finally! tell us what stood out for you most in the latest Kuch Ankahi episode.
I had watched so many dramas lately. I think started six months ago. All the heroines were seen easily trapped into vilan. I wanted to see the heroine centric drama where she take revenge. A strong character. Recently seen some strong woman character dramas. Saba qumar one. Driver one.
Why they are still showing maholla thing? You can’t dress like this? People will offend. I think it’s education for woman is most important.
