Laapata drama aired its final episode last night. Feels as if it just started and ended too soon, right? But we were treated to a fast-paced plot and swiftly directed episodes made it a thrilling watch from start to end – we hope you agree! Here’s one final review to reminisce on the drama that turned many heads, and hopefully – inspired many directors – this past season
First Of All The Ending
Was the ending satisfying? Yes, to an extend. Falak and Shams had their happy ending (something we really wanted to see) and Geeti went on and built her career as an actress (something she always dreamed of). So both sides got closure? … I’m not so sure.
The thriller loving part of me loves to be shocked & I wished and hoped that Daniyal would give a banger surprise in the last episode, maybe an unexpected appearance in the court or jail? For me Daniyal’s exit was kind of abrupt, especially for a role I was just beginning to really enjoy (played so on point by Mirza Gohar Rasheed) and a part of me hoped against hope we’d see him again somewhere near the end, but oh well.
Shams & Falak
Shams and Falak, – Sarah Khan & Ali Rehman Khan – what chemistry did you both bring to our screens! The aankhon aankhon mein baatein aur isharay, were just amazing. We could definitely feel the spark there! Shams’ relentless support, the jail, court room scene and the train scene were beautifully executed and the way Shams stood by Falak all along, just melted our hearts! True love always finds a way? Probably yes! Remember when Shams asked Falak, ‘hamara number kab aayega?’ Well, finally ab aap ka number aagya hai! Ballay ballay!
Shams’ character development deserves a round of applause! From being a carefree young man, to playing poker, getting in trouble, paying the price and his dues and then eventually after returning home, doing his best to make things right and getting life back on track, this is the character development everyone should take notes from. Oh and Ali Rehman was the perfect fit for Shams! Really got into the skin of the character and aced it!
Falak, we could all learn from your strong girl role – a focused, steadfast, competent girl who achieved her dreams, beat the ‘log kia kahengy’ syndrome by becoming a badminton champion and walked away from a toxic relationship like a queen. I stan! A role model for young girls out there, achieve your dreams and don’t settle for less or the worse. Also here, I think the parents deserve due credit too. Great parenting, supporting parents can have a positive impact in a child’s life, making them flourish. So, kudos to writer-director Khizer Idrees for showing such postive parenting and characters through Laapata
And Of Course, Geeti
Geeti, you entertained us to the max. Your charm, presence, shenanigans with Nasreen, were something we’ll never forget. Your outfits and adaaein were on point too! You had your ways, and even though at times we weren’t okay with them, we hope you learnt your lesson at the end.
Speaking of the end, you had us there! Just when we thought ‘oh no. Why did they make her depressed and ever so sad & repenting – BANG- some seriously super acting performances there! Glad to see that instead of becoming a dukhi aatma, you moved on with life! Ayeza Khan you were perfection in Geeti!

Exactly. I couldn’t agree more! The fewer episodes had a great impact and kept us hooked. Oh and ‘So long, goodbye’ by Danyal Zafar made the scenes more interesting and added to the charm!
