Highlights of The Week (21st-25th June’21)
Here’s FUCHSIA’s weekly run-down of the happenings this week:
1. Imran Khan’s Interview That Got Everyone Talking
By now we’ve all formed an opinion about the interview, Whether you agree with our Prime Minister or not, the only positive thing that’s come from this is that once again minorities and women in Pakistan are being heard about their instances with sexual harassment and discrimination. We can only hope this will lead to more implementation of laws that protect women and minorities so that Pakistan can become a safe country for all.
2. Waqar Zaka’s Award Nomination
We’re no strangers to the charismatic appeal and talent of Waqar Zaka. From questionable reality shows, assisting international and national relief drives to educating an entire nation on cryptocurrency, this man has done it all. So we’re not surprised that he has been nominated for the Binance Influencer Awards 2021. Here’s to hoping he wins!
3. Pregnancy Announcements & Gender Reveals That Had Everyone Excited
Yes, you heard that right! Our favourite celebrity couples are expecting! We wish Sarah & Falak and Zaid & Yumna the best on their new journeys as parents. We can already tell they’re going to be great!
4 . Drama Updates – Dhoop Ki Deewar & Laapata To Be Specific
Dhoop Ki Deewar is going to air today! However, Zee5 decided to release two episodes per week instead of releasing them all at once. To be honest, we would’ve loved a weekend long binge session but for now we’ll have to make do with two episodes per week. However, still wondering if it will stream in Pakistan (just in case you’ve been living under a rock and not sure what all the fuss it about)!
Moreover, the new trailer for Laapata dropped and we can’t wait for the drama to air. We’re already blown away from the snippets we’ve seen so far. We can’t wait to see Sarah Khan and Ayeza Khan star together in Laapata and awe us with their performances.
5. The PSL Final!
The Multan Sultans hit the ball out of the park! This was their first win at PSL but from the looks of things, definitely not their last! Moreover, the Multan Sultan’s wicket-keeper and batsman Mohammad Rizwan became the most successful Pakistani wicket-keeper in the world. We call that quite a success don’t you?
6. Jason Derulo Making Jalebis?
Yes, you heard that right! He can sing, he can dance and now he can make jalebis! Desi men definitely need to up their game because they have some serious competition.
7. Britney Spears Speaks Out
Britney shares her harrowing experiences in court after years of silence.
