FUCHSIA visited the sets of the drama and host, Rabia Mughni got to delve into more about the drama, the characters and actors and their POVS’s on love, life and nieces and nephews while talking to the leads Mawra Hocane and Danyal Zafar.
On the subject of both being an aunt and uncle, they both spoke about what a special feeling that is and whether they plan to spoil their nieces and nephews rotten or not?
Daniyal shared:
“As they grow older I’ll be that chacha (uncle) who’s going to spoil them a little bit in life. Right now, I’m a little more busy with my own world, with travelling and everything. But I love obviously playing with them, talking to them. I will spoil them, jab wo maslay shuru houngay, dil, pyaar, muhabbat, it’s what you need. parents are there to keep a check – its a good cop, bad cop situation going on. I definitely want to be their best friend. Anything they want, anything they feel, I want to be there for them.”
Danyal Zafar
Mawra gushed about her sister Urwa Hocane’s newborn daughter, Jahan Ara:
“She’s just 3 months, Mashallah I just know that I would protect her with my life. I just know that she’s the most precious human being and when she looks at me, I just melt. She’s so tiny, I think when she’ll speak to me, I’ll probably just start bawling.”
Mawra Hocane
While also touching upon the concept of love and arranged marriages one of the themes addressed in their new drama.
Danyal shared his POV:
“Just the concept of arranged marriage for me personally, only me personally. It’s just too… I don’t know, it really…It feels weird, yes.
Not knowing the person, I would have to just adjust. Even the concept of like, something not working out and then you having the choice to say, that I don’t want to be in this. It’s even more unfair than that, that the society and your family, pose a pressure. If you tried it for them and you weren’t happy, they don’t let you get out of it.”
But he feels love is the most important source of energy: “Actually, love is the most important energy source at the forefront of the world that exists between the human soul, the human heart, the human mind. It is love.”
Mawra had a more neutral take and isn’t averse to either.
But she also recognises the privilege and feels gratitude for her family, for understanding and allowing her and her siblings the choice to marry who they love without any questions or hesitations against love marriage.
“My sister had a love marriage, my brother had a love marriage. So I never even heard why, what, no one even questioned it. So wo conversations ki bhi zarurat nahi parhi, kyun ke I feel like Alhamdulillah, my parents were evolved on their own. We didn’t have to help them in their evolution. But I also know a lot of people who have to parent their parents.”
Mawra Hocane
“And you know, they have to teach their parents how love is so important. And I think it is. I think it is because you are born in a family, the family doesn’t choose you. But your partner, that is a choice. You know, you have to spend your entire life with somebody you are choosing so you should be allowed to choose that partner.
While I say that I am also not against arranged marriages because I have seen now, more recently that arranged marriages have also really evolved in the sense that parents set it up but they let you meet or they let you interact. I think that there is no such thing as love marriage is wrong or arranged marriage is wrong, I think the fact that the two people who are getting married should have a choice to choose or not choose one another. Because otherwise life could be a disaster. It’s just one life.”
