ARY Films and Salman Iqbal Films present Luv Di Saun – the first teaser is out, starring Farhan Saeed and Mamya Shajaffar – and here’s what the teaser has offered so far.

Pakistan’s film industry, after what felt like a long pause, is finally picking up pace again – and you can feel that energy building. With Eid ul Azha around the corner, the release slate is getting more crowded and, honestly, more exciting by the day. Every other week there’s something new popping up. The latest to enter the chat? Luv Di Saun (Story & direction by Imran Malik) – and its teaser feels like a deliberate attempt to tap into that classic, crowd-pleasing romantic space… but with a slightly moodier edge.

The teaser opens with a very clear intention: mood over everything else. It doesn’t bombard you with plot points or dramatic reveals. Instead, it eases you into its world – one that feels deeply rooted in old Lahore. The narrow streets, the textured backdrops, the slightly faded color palette – it all leans into nostalgia. And while nothing groundbreaking is happening visually, there’s enough cohesion to make you feel like the film knows exactly the kind of emotional space it wants to occupy.

It’s that classic romantic setup, the kind we’ve seen before but also the kind that, when done right, still works every single time. And that’s where the teaser starts to create this quiet internal conversation. On one hand, it feels familiar – almost too familiar. On the other, there’s a certain sincerity in how it presents itself.

About The Teaser & Characters

Now let’s talk about Mamya Shajaffar – because the teaser very clearly wants you to notice her. Mamya serves up the glamour, yes, but it’s not just surface-level. There’s a softness to her presence, a calmness that contrasts nicely with the slightly heavier tone of the teaser. She’s styled to stand out, but more importantly, she’s framed in a way that makes her feel central to the emotional arc. You don’t fully know who she is yet – what she wants, what her story is – but there’s enough intrigue there to keep you watching her every time she appears on screen.

At the same time, there’s also this subtle sense that her character might be carrying more weight than the teaser is letting on. It’s not spelled out, but it’s hinted – through glances, pauses, and the way the camera lingers just a second longer than expected. That’s usually a sign that the film is saving something important for later.

Then comes Farhan Saeed, and he steps into a space that feels very familiar – but also slightly evolved. He’s the angry hero here, or at least that’s the first impression. There’s intensity in his expressions, a kind of restrained frustration that suggests there’s more going on beneath the surface. And that gets reinforced with a voiceover where he says, “faisla kar chuka tha mein, na rukunga na jhukunga,” instantly hinting at a character driven by resolve, ego, and possibly ongoing power struggles. But what’s interesting is that he’s not aggressively angry. It’s more restrained, more internal.

And when the teaser shifts to moments between him and Mamya, you see a completely different side. He softens. The anger doesn’t disappear, but it fades into the background. There’s a vulnerability there that feels intentional – as if the film is building a character who isn’t just defined by his rage, but by what (or who) brings him out of it. That dynamic, if explored properly, could easily become the emotional backbone of the story.

What the teaser is essentially doing is setting up a contrast – light and dark, softness and intensity, love and conflict. It doesn’t tell you what the conflict is, but it makes sure you know it exists.

We also catch a few glimpses of Babar Ali, and even in those brief moments, he comes across as someone who holds power. There’s a certain authority in his presence. It feels like he might be one of the key players in these underlying power struggles, possibly someone who influences or even challenges Farhan Saeed’s character at a deeper level.

Another thing that stands out is how much the teaser is relying on its romantic tone. It’s clearly positioning itself as an emotional love story first, and everything else second. There’s no heavy action being teased, no major plot twists hinted at – just relationships, feelings, and the tension that comes with them. And in a way, that’s refreshing. But it also raises expectations. Now it really comes down to execution – let’s see if it actually delivers on what it’s setting up.

The film is going to be released nationwide this Eid ul Azha, so make sure to head to your nearest cinemas when it drops and catch it on the big screen.
