On Independence Day Mahira Khan shared a teaser on Instagram from her upcoming telefilm titled, ‘Aik Hai Nigar’. The telefilm will chronicle the life and career of Pakistan’s first female Lieutenant General Nigar Johar and stars Mahira Khan as the lead in a khaki sari, alongside Bilal Ashraf, Khushal Khan, Sohail Sameer, Sara and Iman Shahid.

Who Is Lieutenant General Nigar Johar?
Lt. Gen. Nigar Johar made history on the 30th of June 2020 when she was appointed as Pakistan’s first female three-star general and surgeon general of the Pakistan army. She hails from Panjpeer, District Swabi KPK and was also a recipient of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal for her meritorious services in the Army Medical Corps. She received her early education from the Presentation Convent Girls High School, Rawalpindi in 1978 and graduated from the Army Medical College in 1985. In 2015, she received a Masters degree in public health from the University of Health Sciences, Lahore and has since been successful in breaking the glass ceiling and becoming a role model for many women in Pakistan.
We know Mahira Khan will do the role of Lt. Gen. Nigar Johar justice like she always does with every character she plays, and we can’t wait for the release date to be announced!
