By saying this, she has now made it essential for Siraj or someone from his family to kill Farhad. Otherwise, they will have to give Mehmal to Farhad.

How she tells Manto to tell her why Farhad came to see him, saying “aapko meri kasam.”

Three Surprises In The Drama We Didn’t Expect:

Meeting Farhad at the dargah was the first time we saw fear and surprise in Suraiya’s eyes. Till now, Suraiya was the one character who couldn’t be moved by anything, who could predict everything — nothing was a surprise for her.
What did Mehmal mean when she said, “I went through the engagement because of Phuppo”? Did she want to prove Phuppo wrong about her feelings for Manto?
The fact that only the two teachers were invited at the engagement and no students, was surprising and amusing.
Siraj’s sentence “main bilawajha table par mard ban gaya” could have been easily avoided. Sentences like this one confirm the stereotypical thoughts that you are a man only when you show anger and aggression.
Do you also feel uncomfortable when Mehmal takes her fiancé for granted and ridicules him? He is coming across as a harmless person, and that makes Mehmal a red flag. Why did he have to go to her room so late in the night?
Some of the female characters in this drama want nothing else but death and war — like Suraiya and Khadija. How Khadija encourages Farhad: “Don’t worry, it is only an engagement,” despite Bin Yamin clearly discouraging him, is a sign she wants to push all the wrong buttons.
