If Main Manto Nahin Hoon gave us two back to back teasers that teased sufficiently, the third is a banger all the way. Catch up.
With audiences warming up to a story that promises performances, direction and a story, it is, after all, the dialogues that must and should blow one away, seeing that the drama has headlined the outspoken Pakistani playwright, author, poet, Saadat Hasan Manto in its name.
Sajal Aly shines and the third teaser is all about her character. From our heroine puffing on a cigarette (yet unseen visual in Pakistani dramas, those who did it never embraced it fully), to saying out loud, what we hesitate to think very often, the teaser communicates in classic Manto-nian flavour – not mincing words. Is Sajal’s character going to be the Manto incognito in Main Manto Nahin Hoon? Unfiltered, outspoken and unafraid.
Spoilt rich brat with unhinged influence meets straight, vintage-feels professor – that’s the signature plot line for the upcoming drama.
The teaser also introduces Sanam Saeed, Asif Raza Mir and Usman Peerzada’s characters. With three teasers out so far, the stage is set for a riveting drama where dialogues will surely rule the screenplay.
Sajal Aly and Humayun Saeed already show us hints of a chemistry that can turn into quite something as more of the story reveals itself.
But if teasers are anything to go by, Main Manto Nahin Hoon just made sure everyone’s watching the first episode because… are you even a Pakistani drama fan if you’re not waiting for this one to drop!

Main Manto Nahi Hoon is written by Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar and directed by Nadeem Baig. It is produced by Six Sigma Plus Production in collaboration with Next Level Entertainment.
