Mein – Zaid, the half-hearted rebel. You are confusing us. Do you believe Ayra or not? Why aren’t you deciding upon one thing with Mubashira? Do you just want to make sure that she pays for what both your fathers did? But how is that fair? If this marriage is a contract, then you entered that contract with your own free will, why all these tantrums now?

The Conspiracies
So, Kashmala was not aware of her father’s plan to remove Ayra from Zaid’s life. Mubashira throwing her out of the house reminded us that we have seen these types of actions so many times before. Mein sometimes gives us scenes that show us that despite education, exposure and a grand lifestyle, people can stoop really low. Mubashira is stuck… she has to make this marriage work no matter what, otherwise she will be the talk of the town and her ex-husband’s prediction will prove correct, that she cannot stay married to anyone.
Better Planning Needed?
We expected more wisdom or better strategic planning from Zaid’s father. Does he really believe that he can go to these extremes to make life difficult for Ayra and her brother and there will be no consequences? Plus, whether she stays or leaves town will not make a difference in Zaid’s attitude towards Mubashira. He genuinely doesn’t like her. Even if he makes an effort, he can’t keep it up for long and to top it all, Mubashira’s egoistical attitude is no help either.
Rayyan is another confused and weak character. He couldn’t stand up for Kashmala. After all, whatever is happening between Mubashira and Zaid, shouldn’t have anything to do with them.
Zaid’s Dilemma
Is Zaid merely testing Mubashira’s patience, making her understand that he won’t bow down to the same pressures that her ex-husband Mohib was exposed to? Will Zaid soften his stance if Mubashira softens hers too? Or does he just need time to get over Ayra. Will he ever get over Ayra? The characters in Mein are still in a state of flux, leaving us wondering where they will go eventually.
Give us your best prediction. What will make Zaid warm up towards Mubashira eventually and, can she, in turn, let go of her ego to see beyond herself? Is this the only way Mubashira and Zaid have any hope of a future together?
