“Sub dekhtay huway, sub jaanty huway, uskay bawajood bhi yaar…” Ouch, ouch, ouch… Hamza sahib yeh keh diya aap ney. Scroll down to read FUCHSIA’s review of Mere Humsafar.

Hamza was doing just fine till he uttered those dialogues. Along with Hala we also felt our hearts come crashing down… kay nahin Hamza, you cannot really say that or make your support sound like an ahsaan for Hala!
It is sad to see Mere Humsafar falling prey to the same issues that so many Pakistani dramas suffer from – the characters behaving in a manner that just does not stay true to their original characterization.
What is going on with Hala? Is her character manifesting the behaviour of an abuse victim? Because her doubting Hamza just doesn’t make sense at all. If this is not the case, we would find ourselves doubting Hala’s mental state or, just like Hamza, also believe that maybe, there is something more?
All Hala wanted was to hear Hamza say he believed her and she is not misunderstanding his mother’s intentions.
Hamza chose to investigate when the van driver scene had happened, and Hala along with Sameen was accused. Now why would he not even ask his mother once if she really said those things to Hala?
Such a progressive character, turning into someone who refuses to use his common sense, refuses to give a fair chance to Hala is just sad.
Is it honourable of Hamza to ask Khurram to marry Hala or is it really his way of confirming his shuk about Hala and Khurram?
We are still confused why Roomi is not revealing news of her nikah to her parents? Why is she delaying it?
Sameen represents hope and shows guidance to so many girls, that shadee is not the ultimate goal in life. To see her mother still going on about getting her married was frustrating.
Shah Jahan raised an important point that parents raise their children, only to have the children go against them. But can you really blame children if you refuse to acknowledge their right to make their own decisions? More so, if you only want to enforce your own agenda.
What are your thoughts on Mere Humsafar so far?
