Muamma has audiences in its grip. From the delivery boy turned electrician’s histrionics to Junaid’s love confession and Aashiq’s game plan reveal, what will Jiji do next and will she come out on top in the end? Catch the drama review for episodes 11 & 12.
Jahan Ara managed to replace the broken mirror, fake an electricity shutdown to do it and also managed to get the electrician in and out of the house befor Junaid and Maira could catch wind of what really happened. But despite the fact that they didn’t see anyone, would you continue to live in a house when you knew someone entered it secretively when you were out? Oh well, Junaid is obviously hugely smitten by JiJi which makes anything possible. There’s no way he’s walking away despite all the red flags he continues to ignore.
Maira is close to discovering the delivery boy is hoodwinking her but he manages to escape her interrigation. However the entire mirror replacement scene was smoothly done. Full marks to the director for adding in details, shattered mirror and all as well as adding suspense to the final scene – will he make it out before Junaid and Maira come back home? It was all happening in Muamma this week.
JiJi has a past and not only is she estranged from her parents but also nurses childhood memories where she was ignored as a girl. Not just that, she has probably made her mother believe she has children – is this because she wants to overcome her pain of not being able to bear children? Her visit to her husband Sarmad in jail is also intriguing. Did he really commit the murder or has JiJi framed him? Despite 12 episodes in, the story still has a lot to reveal. One hopes that the creators can keep the storytelling crisp and not add too many plot lines that dilute the main story, which is the enigma surrounding JiJi and her interactions with her tenants.
All too many dramas have fallen victim to compromised end episodes and we’re hoping Muamma can keep the pace going.
Maira’s mother in-law seemed manipulative but is Junaid losing patience with Maira because he wants to find an excuse to leave her and be with JiJi? One wonders yet again why JiJi is manipulating Junaid, just like she did Zeeshan. Is it because she can’t bear to see other young couples find happiness, a form of catharsis for herself Or is it because she feels these men are not worthy of their wives? Is she testing them, and if they fail the test then they don’t deserve to be with their wives? The fact that JiJi is looking after Zara seems that she does not mean any ill towrads them however, her motives are still suspicious and the fact that we can’t decide what drives JiJi’s behaviour is keeping us invested in the story.
Aashiq and Asia have also come under the radar but will JiJi force them to divorce as well? The fact that she plans to let Aashiq go after torturing him for a few days shows she is merely scaring him. Come next episode, and Junaid and Maira’s relationship might be under pressure. Will Junaid leave Maira, will JiJi turn him away, and will he regret his actions?
Did JiJI writing #2 on the mirror signal to another fallen couple? How many more to go?
Whatever happens, we assume the story will take a different turn that Zeeshan and Zara’s. Also, a brief flashback of Usman Mukhtar’s character with JiJi shows there’s more to JiJi’s past and her love story. Maira and Junaid might be on their way out but will JiJi manipulate the situation for another breakup?
