Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha is turning the curve on a story that is just going from miserable to even more miserable. From Maheer’s perpetual pain (that we are exhausted of watching now), to Saad’s persistent sacrificial nature, we wonder if the drama is just handing out misery after misery in successive episodes.
Dukh Overflow
Kiya Maheer kay saath ghalat huwa hai? Even though she is aware of only half the truth, she did deserve to know the truth about Areeb not bringing the shaadi ki baraat to her house. Kiya overflow of dukh is now making us immune to Saad’s sadness.
Maheer Disappoints Yet Again and Again
Did Maheer believe Saad when he told her that he had no idea about the death of Areeb’s father? Saad placed blind trust in Maheer about not contacting Areeb when everyone accused her of it, so should the same be expected from Maheer; to trust Saad, to know him better?
It is sad to see that Maheer is unable to win any sympathy or convince the viewers that what happened was unfair to her. A relationship can only be interesting if both parties complement each other but here we only see Saad, and Maheer is practically invisible. The more we see her, the more we feel she is self-obsessed and selfish.
It is not just Saad, she didn’t even think about how sick her father was. We are not sure if she should have disturbed his emotional well-being and wept in front of him.
So does Maheer Really Deserve Saad?
With this reaction from Maheer, audiences might feel that Saad is better off without Maheer…
In addition, this constant flow of dukh and rona dhona is now making us immune to Saad’s dukh.
Why Not Treat Her Like An Adult?
Maheer was justified in complaining to her mother, that “you knew I love him, how could you not inform me of the entire situation”. Actually, Maheer made us all think as well, why was Maheer not told of the whole situation? We wish dramas would show parents treating their daughters like adults. If she is old enough to get married and raise children, she should be given the chance to be taken into confidence about everything, no matter what it is.
Anabia’s Filmy Plans & Neelo’s Toxicity
Anabia what are you up to? Are you going to facilitate a “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam“ version of MPHT? You told Maheer about the death of Areeb’s father very conveniently, making her angry and bitter, but when your mother apprised you of the rest of the situation, you forgot to inform Maheer about the full story.
Neelo jee, you are not stopping. We do realize you are representing the voice of society but we would like you to be a little bit more gentle and not this toxic.
Final Thoughts
Finally, seems that both drama leads are disappointing us. Maheer, though she might be justified in her sorrow and sense of loss, has been cruel and unfair to Saad, (the only person who trusts her), by not believing him. And Saad just seems to not have a sense of self-esteem with Maheer.
