And why a person in a wheel chair did not get more assistance?
Pakistani actress and activist and much loved celebrity, Nadia Jamil shared her unfortunate experience at Heathrow Airport on Twitter. Fans, followers, fellows of the entertainment fraternity tweeted in support and demanded British Airways apologize and make up for the trauma and pain they gave Nadia.

Nadia Jamil, who recently announced she was finally cancer free (more power to you!) was travelling from Heathrow, where she was left stranded at her terminal after they off-loaded her for not having the correct documents and an expired NICOP, she shared that she was left waiting for hours and then stranded at the terminal. Jamil took to Twitter to share her experience, which got the attention of many and now everyone wants the concerned airline to be held accountable for their actions.
“I have never had such a traumatic & awful experience in my life. Cancer & chemotherapy was easier than [the] treatment I got at @britishairways Heathrow. Abandoned in a wheelchair with suitcases lying all around me. Curt, nasty attitudes. Contradictory requests. Exhausted, drained, depleted,” she wrote on Twitter.
Jamil also shared a video describing her experience and how no one came to her aid.
Nadia mentioned that she lost her National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and was planning to travel with a photocopy of her NICOP and an expired Pakistani identity card.
“When an unwell passenger in a wheelchair does not have correct documents, plz do NOT keep them waiting for 4 hrs, then leave them alone on a wheel chair, with heavy luggage around. Please have the decency 2 assist them, with their luggage 2 their transport @British_Airways I fainted in the cab! [sic]” – Nadia Jamil tweeted
Twitterati showed support
For all the right reasons, Twitterati showed their support and love for Nadia and condemned British Airways for their unprofessional actions and behavior.
Did The Airline Respond?
The airline apologized for its behaviour and asked for details regarding the experience. The humiliation and trauma Nadia faced instigated her fans to tweet about her ordeal.
Let’s hope the worst is over for her. Nadia tweeted that she had eventually fainted in the cab that took her home.
Nadia, you have our support!
Our love and support is all for Nadia. No one, regardless who they are, deserve this treatment, esp. in a Covid world, where we must learn to be more empathetic & patient when engaged in a service-oriented business. Also, having known her medical condition, this incident could have been avoided.
We fail to understand why such a well-reputed airline could not assist her & work out a solution. A person in a wheelchair must not be left abandoned, as it seems, did transpire in this case. The public is still awaiting more details to understand how & why she had to go through this ordeal.
We wish and hope all the best and send positivity her way. Keep smiling always! More power to you girl!
