A NADRA assistant director was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area on Friday morning, November 6, police confirmed.

The victim was identified as Fahad Khan, who was on his way to work when he was attacked near the authority’s office in Phase 5.
According to Peshawar police spokesperson Alam Khan, the incident took place behind the NADRA office, within the jurisdiction of Hayatabad Police Station. Initial reports suggest Fahad was parking his vehicle and heading towards the office when the attackers opened fire. He died at the scene.
Police reached the location after receiving information about the shooting and began collecting evidence. Eight spent cartridges from a .30-bore pistol were recovered from the crime scene. Fahad’s body was later shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination and other legal formalities.
The police are also examining CCTV footage from cameras installed around the office’s parking area to identify the people involved. According to local media reports, investigators are looking into different aspects of the case to establish why Fahad was targeted and how the attackers managed to escape.
Fahad Khan was the son of Sharoom Khan and a resident of Kafur Dheri. According to reports by Dawn and other local news outlets, he was also the nephew of MNA Noor Alam Khan and the nephew of former Mathra tehsil chairman Fareedullah Khan.
As for the motive, some initial reports have pointed towards possible personal enmity. However, this has not been officially established by police, who are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing. The identities of the attackers remain unknown, and no confirmed arrests have been reported.
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also expressed grief over Fahad Khan’s killing and extended his condolences to the bereaved family. He called for those responsible to be identified and brought to justice.
