Nazlee Nasr Talks About Changes In The Industry
Time is not the same as it was before, it has changed entirely.
Nazlee Nasr
Nazlee Nasr, who started her career in the PTV era and rejoined the industry after quite a long break in 2007, shared her observations about how things have changed over the years. She said that back then, the environment on set was much more disciplined. Timings were followed strictly, and everyone used to be scared of the director – in a respectful way. But now, it’s the opposite – there seems to be a lack of respect for the position. She feels that directors today are often unable to take strong decisions, which wasn’t the case in the past. In her view, this shift is unfortunate because the director is supposed to be the captain of the ship.
When asked if things have improved for female actors in the industry, Nazlee said she hasn’t personally experienced anything troubling. She believes that if you are respectful and maintain your boundaries, others treat you the same way. She also noted that while some men might try to cross lines, they are usually smart enough to recognize who they shouldn’t mess with.
Nazlee Nasr Talks About Love, Divorce, And Second Chances
Nazlee shared that in our society, when a woman from showbiz gets divorced, people often blame the industry. But she believes that these problems are common in many families – it’s just that people from the entertainment industry are more exposed. She said it’s important to talk about these things, not to rebel, but to share experiences that might help others.
I thought that if I don’t remarry, then I will become very dependent on my kids.
Nazlee Nasr
Speaking about her own journey, she said that after going through a tough time in her personal life, she didn’t rush into anything. Her children were very young, so she gave herself time. But later, she realized that if she didn’t move forward, she might become emotionally dependent on her kids, expect too much from them, and forget about her own life. That’s when she decided to remarry – not just for herself, but to avoid putting pressure on her children in the future. She also mentioned that she always wanted to give her kids a better future, including a good education, and that thought gave her strength to make new decisions.
