Characters That Remind Us Of Samia From ‘Ghisi Piti Mohabbat’

If you have seen the drama ‘Ghisi Piti Mohobbat‘, you will instantly associate all the characters of the stories with Samia’s interesting life. Just like Samia, Chaem Choi in the story”Pride to be” was also an uninvited bold daughter-in-law. Moreover, Mia of “The Perfect Match” was also a career-oriented young woman with dreams just like Samia. Hence, every story represents a strong protagonist finding their identity amidst so many misadventures in our society. Our Idiosyncrasies and the drama, ‘Ghisi Pitti Mohbaat’, share almost the same notion about destroying the ancient desi traditions and myths. Moreover, they promote the positive perspective of accepting an individualistic mindset. If you had a good time watching the drama, you will enjoy reading this book as well!
My Thoughts
The book had some appealing stories and some too concise but satisfactory stories as well. Based on my experience I could relate to a few of them but a few of them were not relatable. For Example, just like in “The curiosity shop,” desi aunties telling me to get married early for real-happiness in my life-as if that’s the only solution left! Nevertheless, with every turning page, the book made me laugh at the norms and traditions our desi culture follows. Every story’s plot made me want more, and the views of leading characters kept me addicted!

Few of the stories had some toxic elements such as – If a married woman is childless, then she must be having all sorts of sexual health issues or sex position issues or, a girl about to be married must be given a sex prep talk by her aunt for “Good News” to be heard soon. Despite these stereotypical concepts and practices, every story had an empowering element about finding your voice and identities. Moreover, these short stories encourage to bring change in society, and everyone needs to read them ASAP!
