Pakistani Dramas to Avoid

Have you been watching Mein Na Janoo, or any of the other dramas we’re about to mention? Hold on please, before you go any further.

Pakistani Dramas are soaring the charts this season. With block busters like Alif, Meray Paas Tum Ho, Ehd-e-Wafa entertaining viewers onscreen, there are some who completely fail to meet audience expectation! Why, oh why would writers choose to give us a story that doesn’t go anywhere, and why would seasoned actors want to take on projects that fizzle into the insipid, ludicrous, or even … pitiful examples of how NOT to screen a drama?

Naqb zan, daasi, mein na janoon

We’re saving you the torture of watching something that might clearly be a waste of time! (You can thank us later). here arae the Top 5 Dramas to AVOID on television this season. If you sense one of them is about to come on air, find something worthwhile to do. E.g. call your mom, offer to help her in the kitchen, clean up that room, or call up that long lost friend you had always been planning to. Yes, it’s that bad. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

1. Naqab Zun

Naqab Zan, Naqab Zun

Naqab Zun started off with a thought provoking story line. The topic of keeping and creating ‘safe zones’ for our young girls, (especially in family weddings, events, etc.) so that they do not encounter unforeseen incidents.

The suicide of one of the main characters leads to a sharp dip in the plot (audiences were not happy), and then the marriage of a rape victim to her rapist was the final straw! Watch at your own risk – so not recommended!

2. Mein Na Janoo

Mein na janoon, Mein na janoo

Mein Na Janoo – another story that pulled off a good start. However, the plot transformed into a lame, baseless and forcefully ridiculous drama sequences (the gun scene at the wedding), wedding elopements and related shenanigans left us wondering – WHY!

3. Daasi

Daasi, Pakistani dramas

We were very excited to catch Adeel Hussain on the screen after a long time, however, sadly, there is no chemistry between the lead pair.

Strange behaviour by the female leads, e.g. walking into the hero’s room unannounced, random sketching? The story doesn’t connect remotely to real life characters – major disappointment feels!

4. Mehboob Apke Qadmon Mein

Mehboob Apke Qadmon mein

The story is about Jadoo – and the less said the better, so we’ll keep it short! Why do we need to watch an obsessive female character, trying to rope in a male lead, and that too, when he is her devar! A depraved story line that didn’t need to be produced at all.

There you have it. Daasi, Mehboob Apke Qadmon Mein, Naqab Zun and Mein Na Janoo. We hope you’ve go that down. mean while, we’re off to watch Ehd-e-Wafa, and maybe, you should too!
