Pakistani Fashion Photographer Tajwar Munir Features On BBC’s Happy Pod As He Saves 20 Year-Old British Fashion Student’s Lost Work!

In a tale of art, loss, generosity, and some incredible luck, Pakistan’s fashion photographer Tajwar Munir was featured on BBC’s Happy Pod last week.

In an intriguing twist of fate, thousands of miles away, British fashion student Grace Hart, 20, faced the fear of not getting into university after her mother, Sonia, accidentally discarded her precious portfolio. However, her lost sketches somehow made their way to Pakistan, ending up in a charity shop in Lahore, nearly 6,400 miles away—all thanks to Pakistani fashion photographer Tajwar Munir.

How Tajwar Found British Student, Grace Hart’s Art Work In Lahore

He had found them at a thrift store in Lahore and had bought it all – A box of 3 sketchbooks, in a box which costed less than $1! Tajwar thought to himself how lucky was he to have found such a treasure at such a bargain. His initial plan was to get the artwork framed and up in his house. Even though he was delighted with the absolute steal price, he was rather doubtful…he thought perhaps they weren’t just donated and instead were lost.

He shared: “I know how much an artist loves their work, she can not throw them away after doing so much hard work. She had done pencil sketches, watercolors and every form of art and I thought she must need them, she can’t just throw them away. I just had to find her!” Tajwar from Lahore found Grace on Instagram and sent her pictures of all the work she thought she had lost, she thought to herself this can’t be real.

Tajwar Looked her Up On Instagram In A Bid To Discover More About The Art

“The name was on the top of the art and luckily I found her Instagram and dropped her a message with images of her sketchbooks.” He asked her if she threw them intentionally or had actually lost her work? The rest he says, is history.

The mystery of Grace’s lost art work started making sense for her, when she received an Instagram message from a man called Tajwar Munir. Grace Hart said she initially considered Tajwar’s message for a scam and almost didn’t respond. But after chatting back and forth and waiting months for an international delivery, she was really grateful student finally saw her work returned to her. “I’ve always taken a lot of pride in my art,” she said. “It was very upsetting when I realized it had gone missing.”

All Is Well Since Grace Made It To Uni & Her Sketches Made Their Way Back To The UK From Lahore, Thanks To Tajwar’s Curiosity

This all happened when Grace was preparing her portfolio while applying to study fashion at Manchester Metropolitan University. Turns out her art books had become mixed up with items her family was organizing to send to a charity shop. As it happened, thankfully for the 20 year old Grace, she was accepted onto the course as she was able to send pictures of the work she had spent years putting together.

Luckily for Grace, her sketchbooks have now arrived in the english town of Rugby, 6400 kms from Lahore. Though, Tajwar and Grace, both still have no idea how her art really ended up in Pakistan!

An Intriguing Reminder From Life Itself?

Sonia, Grace’s mother, expressed her gratitude to Mr. Munir, describing the story as incredible. The 52-year-old shared, “We had searched everywhere. I did feel sick. I was absolutely gutted. Grace is really talented, and her artwork is amazing. I started to panic and thought, ‘What is she going to do for university?'” Sonia never expected in a million years to recover her daughter’s artwork but noted, “It does restore your faith in humanity.”

This chance happening is a reminder of how life can strike you with the most surprising, unpredictable events. When it comes to fate’s play, no distance, logic, or even the wildest encounters seem to matter. This is also a profound example of how art binds humans as a whole, connecting them and truly finding its way to those it’s meant for.

We’re following up with Tajwar Munir! As this story unfolds, stay tuned for intriguing details and some interesting insights coming your way.
