After a 3 year-long hiatus from the movies, Shahrukh Khan is back, this time, with a bang! He announced his upcoming movie “Pathaan” today, which has been in the works for quite some time now. To all those who thought he’ll fade away gracefully, the announcement must have surprised them. Shahrukh Khan is known for doing things in style, even if he doesn’t try, he just has that charm to him. King of Bollywood for a reason right? Well, move aside, Bollywood’s young heroes, SRK is back to remind you who the real OG of Bollywood is.
Pathaan’s announcement came as a pleasant surprise for all SRK fans and it has broken the internet. Shahrukh Khan’s film releases always have a very filmy feel. Name drop, poster drop, teaser drop, and then #AskSrk drop … you name it, and you drop everything to check out what he’s dropped next on twitter! So we did a little time traveling (on the internet) to give you a throwback to how SRK announced three of his movies, including Pathaan in true SRK filmy style.
1. Raees
Raees had its fair share of controversies before its release yet, it was still one of the most-sought after SRK films, yes, all of them are but this one was extra special as Shahrukh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui were pairing up for the first time. Plus, it had Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan as Shahrukh Khan’s heroine.
Fans were eager for the trailer release ever since they found out that Raees was in the making. As a treat for all the restless fans, SRK conducted a live interactive session in UFO cinema, where fans asked him their questions and he answered through the screen! Must have felt surreal no? A few posters, photos and alot of anticipation later, he finally posted Raees’ trailer on his Instagram account and the rest was history…
2. Dear Zindagi
This was a special one. Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt’s pair was unusual (some were arguing) yet, extremely exciting at the same time. Shahrukh Khan kept his fans on their toes for a poster release but once he did, there was no turning back! He rewarded his fans for their patience with 5 different snippets from the movie, which was unconventional but well received by fans! Each clip explored the relationship between Alia and her therapist (Shahrukh) and how he helps Alia find her way through life’s challenges and most importantly, changes her perspective towards life and about herself.

3. Pathaan
This one came as a shocker! Everyone knew Shahrukh Khan was working on a film called Pathaan but fans had limited information about its release or other cast members. For instance, not many people knew that Deepika Padukone and John Abraham are in the movie.
They finally announced the date for the much anticipated movie with a snippet featuring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone. Though, we didn’t get to see Shahrukh Khan, his voice was enough to cause a stir on social media. Pathaan will release on 25 January, 2023 and fans are over the moon for Khan’s comeback but one year is a long time, guess we’ll have to make do with the trailer and songs (fingers crossed) till then. Let’s hope they don’t make us wait months before SRK’s look is revealed.
