Points To Note
Expecting Aslam to become financially independent is a valid point on the part of Bushra’s family, though we wished Bushra had finished off the mangni on her own (knowing where Aslam’s heart lies).
On another point, does Aslam not feel the need to continue his adhoori education? He left halfway, & so consumed by ishq now he is, that he seems to have lost all track of reality. We clearly recall him begging Akram to let him stay and finish his parhai – and now, we wonder if THAT’S ever gonna happen?

Flashback to Aslam & Zainab letter scenes reflect that society doesn’t forget a girl’s past relationships even after she’s married with children? Is that really so or have we moved past it? Faiza Iftikhar is showing us the mirror, yet we conveniently fail to take note of what a large part of our society is very good at doing – judging women for their past relationships.

Akram is the unmoving brick (or steel) wall that nobody goes past … Prem kahanian inpe aake khatam ho jatee hain. Will he ever let this one pass? Seems the drama will go through quite the climax before the troubled lovers see the light at the end of the tunnel – a very dark tunnel indeed!

Pehli Si Mohabbat has been criticized for being a ghissi pitti love story – yes, it might be that, but it’s more than that too – just look at the social issues under the spotlight, they too deserve a second glance – just like Rakshi!
