Go Italian with POSITANO RISTO!
Positano Risto is bang in the middle of Bussorah Street and you just can’t miss it! This halal Italian restaurant boasts a 2 story space adorned with a subtle, yet trendy mix of scenes from Positano, as well as images of famous Italians throughout history. The theme carries through to the drinks menu. Drinks have been named after many characters off the restaurant’s walls!
This Muslim-owned restaurant opened its doors to the public in November 2017 and has been ranked #1 Halal Restaurant on TripAdvisor Singapore for obvious reasons.
Once you step foot inside Positano Risto, the space is much larger than meets the eye. We urge you to head up the funky set of stairs and encounter “a selfist’s dream come true”
The menu has a very balanced and well-varied spread of pastas, pizzas, salads, soups, nibbles & desserts.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!
If you’re big on seafood, the Squid Ink Spaghetti is a hot local favourite and the Positano’s Boston Lobster Fettuccine is a chef’s recommendation. The portion for the latter is massive so make sure you have more than one person to share this with! Although there is a whole lot of focus on seafood, there are plenty of meat options available. And if you fancy neither, then they are more than happy to scrap the meat and go vegetarian for you. For those who love their pasta but prefer to go gluten-free, gluten-free spaghetti is on the menu as well. The kids’ menu has been given a fair attention to detail as well. The restaurant certainly aims to be all-inclusive with the menu choices!

What’s on the Menu – Nibbles
Positano Caesar Salad
Romaine Lettuce, drizzled with a special in-house dressing and tossed with spices, croutons and turkey bacon bits. Chef’s recommendation and ours too if you fancy a fresh, crunchy, light salad as a side or a main
Arancini balls
These golden-brown Italian rice balls are made with creamy, chewy Arborio rice. Stuffed with Mozzarella and flavoured with Italian herbs, there is nothing over-powering or boring about these nibbles. Served with sauces made in-house, the trio consists of a sweet, a spicy and a sour offering to add a subtle kick to the Arancini balls. Truly a comfort food that hits the right spot!
What’s on the Menu – Mains
Positano Super Supreme Calzone

The pizzas are their specialty but this one is their bestseller and we highly recommend it!
This Calzone is so authentic it took us right back to Italy. The tomato base is prepared in-house and isn’t too sweet, zingy or overpowering like the jarred stuff we buy off store shelves. In fact, it oozes freshness and flavour. The texture of the dough defies explanation. It isn’t too thin, rock-hard or thick and soggy. The reason for this baked-perfection? The chef has perfected this recipe over 186 times. This base is like no other!! And if that is not enough, each pocket inside the Calzone holds a surprise element. You have to dig in to find out, we’re not letting out all their secrets. But safe to say, you won’t be disappointed.
Lamb Shanks

The Lamb Shank is so tender, that it literally falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. There is no unpleasant, meaty odour or over-powering aroma and the presentation is a 10/10. Served with creamy mashed potatoes, thick, delicious gravy and steamed, fresh vegetables on the side, this succulent meat is a must-try. The meat is sourced from New Zealand or Autralia. The flavours come together marvellously. The shank has been braised for 3-6 hours and comes in a generous portion size!
Spaghetti and Meat Balls
Hands down the best meatball pasta in town!!! The spaghetti was cooked to perfection and so were the meatballs. The tender, juicy and flavourful meatballs were a treat after trying several restaurants that served over-cooked, soggy or frozen ones that scar your taste buds for life. The spaghetti is cooked in a mild tomato-flavoured sauce with added meat. No stinginess with the protein portions here!
What’s on the Menu – Drinks
Misty Amalfi

This drink is a refreshing mix of pomegranate, lime and ginger ale. The natural, undiluted flavours, free of artificial enhancements is a pleasant heaven for the palate. You can taste each ingredient separately, and in its entirety, without one overpowering the other. And we couldn’t stop sipping.
Sky Walker

A sweet and sour concoction of wild blue berries, blue lagoon, and lemon-lime soda is a fantastic choice for those who prefer their drinks with a bit of kick. Not for the faint-hearted!
GodFather
Mother of all milkshakes! Creamy vanilla ice-cream, Ferrero Rocher and Nutella blitzed together to create this heavenly dessert in a drink. GodFather had us floored. We will surely be back for more!
What’s on the Menu – Dessert
Positano Lava Cake

This warm, dark chocolate Lava cake is to die for! It sits on top of, and oozes onto, a slice of homemade Oreo mud-pie ice cream. In three words – THIS IS DIVINE!
At Positano Riso, the focus revolves heavily around flavours – more herbs than spices. You can taste the freshness of the meat and the vegetables. The food is cooked to perfection with the right balance of flavours and generous portion sizes. All pizzas including the bases and sauces, soups & salads are made in-house. The prices are light on the pocket and the ambience is fantastic – may it be a family meal, a two-some for lunch/dinner or friends hanging out for coffees, shakes, floats or simply desserts. The restaurant is extremely child-friendly and ensures your young ones feel welcomed.
Positano Risto has already hosted a number of successful corporate events and birthday parties and is open to hosting more and happy to customize events to the clients specifications. Their priority is: happy customers who keep coming back!
OWNERS AND IDEOLOGY
The Muslim owners Muhammad Ishak and Imran travelled the world widely and noticed the lack of availability or variety of good quality Halal western food in most major cities of the world. They felt frustrated when they were forced to eat only kebabs, fish and chips or vegetarian pizzas throughout their journey.
That is when they felt the need for quality Halal food to be made available everywhere. Taking the initiative in Singapore, with their first halal Italian restaurant, they plan to venture internationally. Their second restaurant is due to open at Publika Mall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 1st of December 2018. If you are on the lookout for real, authentic, Italian food then pay a visit to Positano Risto for your first of many visits.
