With a rising global population and the growing desire for urban living as populations migrate into cities that are already bursting at the seams, we witness a thirst for exploiting the land we live on, for personal and financial gains and power. This demand has tragically led to large scale deforestation, as apartment blocks, housing societies promising a state-of-the-art lifestyle, shopping malls offering addictive retail therapy and spacious parking lots ruthlessly sweep aside wildlife habitats and destroy nature – whoever or whatever comes in its way.
Psychological Thriller
The story navigates audiences through a psychological thriller, setting the scene for nature vs city dwelling as the backdrop, serving as a stark reminder of the damage we do as we seek the comforts of modern living, ignoring the long term cost of our life choices on our planet, how greed takes over our decisions and that what we lose in the process might be hard if not impossible to recover.
Wakeup Call for City Dwellers Across the World
The film touches upon the adverse effects of our present and planned future lifestyle including climate change, which we are already experiencing; regions in South Asia facing some of the worst backlash of freak weather attributed to climate change. The film boasts an exceptional cast led by Naveed Raza and Mahsam Raza, alongside notable actors Rashid Farooqi, Kinza Malik, Asfandyar, Shahzad Ali Khan, Mehboob Sultan, Faisal Naqvi, Adeela Khan, Faheema Awan, and Zafar Khichi. The striking visuals, captured by cinematographers Naveed Malik and Fayyaz Malik, are complemented by a compelling music score from the Azal band’s Shahbaz Khan.
