Behind every successful woman – there is a story.
There are certain individuals whom we have all heard of: take Lady Diana or Mother Teresa, for example. However, each of them have a story beyond just their names. They’ve sacrificed their own lives for the betterment of others. They’ve changed the course of history by helping us recognize our rights and by speaking for those who have been deemed voiceless. In this light, here’s a tribute to every woman’s hero: Late Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Known for being the first women’s rights champion, Ruth Bader came forward as quite a strong force.
She was the second woman ever to receive a seat in the US high court and has since then, been quite vocal about the lack of female representation in the government.

Furthermore, Ruth Bader has called out Donald Trump multiple times for being a ‘faker’ with an ‘ego’. Trump responded to her claims with quite a daunting and daring Tweet:
However, our power woman did not, well, resign! (You go, girl)
She went on to speak about the importance of gender equality and how a utopian society can be established:
“Women will only have true equality when men share with them the responsibility of bringing up the next generation”
Ruth Bader
In the 1970’s, Ruth’s independence, confidence and pure intentions led her to win 4 of 5 cases argued before the Supreme Court. Her success resulted in a protection law for women under the constitution.
Now, here’s something funny. Ruth Bader Ginsberg is known for one more thing: sleeping. Yes, you heard it right! Ruth went viral on the internet in 2015 after she appeared to have dozed off during the State of Union address. I mean, a woman with the weight of an entire country on her shoulders does need some sleep, right? We gather, it was the power naps that provided her the sharp insight to come out on top every time against her opponents!

However, I do have something to add here. Ruth’s life wasn’t all glitters and gold.
She was discriminated against when seeking jobs just because she was a young mother. She decided to study law at a time when misogyny dominated our society. In fact, one so-called ‘entitled’ man even went forward to question Ruth’s position at school,
Why have you taken the place of a man?
It is clear that Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an inspiration for all women out there. Her educational background motivates us to gain insight of the world around us. Her courage and bold words against even the president of the most powerful country in the world, encourages us to stand up for our voice. We should learn to be persistent through her personal struggles.
Ruth Bader went from being A woman to THE woman – to the woman who fought for all of us.
And now, it’s our duty to continue her legacy and work towards a common goal- equality.
Rest In Peace, Ruth. Thank you for being you.
