Samiya Mumtaz Shares Her Acting Journey
Samiya shed light on how she was discovered by Umera Ahmed and Humayun Saeed for their project which was the start of her acting journey.
“Dawn jab english channel tha, unhon nay kaha kay hum aik show plan kar rahay hein jiska naam hoga articulate jismein hum artist ko bulaeingay or aap unko interview kareingai. Udhar say phir mujhay. Humayun Saeed nay poocha because wo produce kar rahay thay. Mujhay unka bhi us waqt nahi pata tha kay wo kon hein. Phir mein nay Nadia Jamil say poocha and usnay mujhay kaha kay ofcourse karo”
Samiya Mumtaz On Colorism In The Industry
She spoke about how the industry has put people in certain boxes because of their complexion and how it gets frustrating as an actor.
“Mujhay jo characters interesting lagtay thay or mein wo kehti thi kay mujhay karna hai tou I would be told shakal dekho apni. Humaray yahan good characters jo hein wo goray hotay hein, bad characters jo hotay hein wo desi colouring kay hotay hein. Frustration hoti hai kay kya aap sari zindagi phir yehi kartay rahengay”
Samiya went on to explain how an actor is expected to dress up and play a part even when she’s not before the lend or on set.
Her Experience At An Ashram In India
She spoke about how there was peace and quiet at the Ashram.
“usmein aap subah sabsey pehlay uthkay sirf meditation phir how to connect with the divine. Us tarhan ka aik lecture jaisa hota tha, wo mahol is tarhan ka tha kay sab cheez baray discipline say or quietly koi shor nahi tou ussay sukoon buhat tha.
