Another sixer by Sar e Rah. The drama wins us by depicting various challenges a woman faces when she steps out to earn a living, whether it is on the streets or in plush corporate offices.

Uplifting Female Characters
It was uplifting to see Hareem’s character Maryam who was so warm, so upfront and so loving towards Rania. She admired a fellow woman’s courage and was truly happy to see her engaged in a profession that was something so unique for a woman in our society. While we would all like to live in an ideal world where men change their attitudes towards women, one cannot help but feel that the drama also makes the viewers realize that maybe, a separate commuting option in every category operated by women for women might be an ideal idea and the need of the times as well.
Objectifying Women
The fact that women are objectified in every sense was also depicted in a realistic and very relatable manner. From attributing their wins to their looks and connections to using them as a source of your enjoyment, Sar e Rah touches upon many prevalent challenges faced by women. Another interesting point was how support from men sometimes is uninvited, and sometimes it is used to push their own agenda.
A Positive Outlook
Keeping true to its essence, the drama shows how bravely Maryam confronts her challenges. Perhaps the best lesson delivered through the episode was how she never compromised on her values despite the fact that her career and her finances depended on it. Such a critical message and guidance for many young women out there. Thank God the drama balances out toxic male characters with supportive or neutral men like the boss and the third male colleague, instead of taking a generalized call on all men, like it did at the onset about taxi drivers.
Last but not the least, the drama also touched upon the career vs shaadi debate and why we can’t just let women enjoy having their career instead of bothering them forever with shaadi questions.
