Did we miss some episodes in between? Or did the script get mixed up with another drama? Get in on this week’s review of Dunn Mere Dil.
A Strange and Confusing Relationship
It is a strange love and then completely confusing relationship one would have with SMD. You love the bond between Zaviyar and Bilal, the mother-daughter positivity, and the way Bilal Abdullah is coming back to life. The story does seem to have some merit. But then your mind gets completely boggled by why Sadaf is scared, offended at the thought that Bilal Abdullah might propose to her. And because he helped treat her brother, she would have to say yes. Why, with an unending “yyyy” at the end, comes to our mind. That awkward silence, the limited conversation at the dinner table, is again beyond our understanding. It seemed as if they were hiding something, and anything disastrous could happen any minute. It just seemed so dramatic…
And honestly, our heart went out to Bilal Abdullah—why did he have to be treated like this?
Zaviyar and Bilal Abdullah’s Heartwarming Bond
Zaviyar and Bilal Abdullah’s bond is so beautiful and heartening. The way Zaviyar takes him to the room, saying, “He will see my room first,” warmed your heart. You can see how they both are healing each other, how they understand each other’s insecurities and traumas. Zaviyar has brought a sense of meaning and purpose to Bilal Abdullah’s life. And while Bilal Abdullah saved Zaviyar’s life, Zaviyar’s impact on his life might seem subtle but is undeniable. He now feels worthy of something, has a sense of doing something noble, and has built a close brotherly bond—a family that he had missed all his life.
Hamsha’s Unexpected Manipulations
Hamsha, a character that had seemed harmless and just a friend, had us questioning why Hira Mani was performing this role. But now we see Hamsha has the whole game on. She is manipulating everyone. She has managed to place doubt in Sadaf’s mind, bring out her side that felt bad for Ammar, and now it’s Bilal Abdullah. But the challenge for her is that Bilal Abdullah has only thought about marriage because he is falling in love with Sadaf. If Sadaf refuses, will he marry anyone else? How will she manage to convince him of that?
Saba Hameed’s Endearing Performance
Saba Hameed is doing a great job as the mother. We love the mother-daughter bond. We have to give full marks to the drama for showing a mother-daughter relationship that is so honest and endearing. Most importantly, it is not boring to watch them.
Bilal Abdullah’s Cringeworthy Side
While it’s definitely interesting to see Bilal Abdullah falling in love with Sadaf and you want to root for them both, the way he becomes a little shy every time he thinks about her or is about to mention his interest in her is borderline cringe at the moment. The problem arises from the fact that we have not been shown this lighter or childish side of him before. For a person of his stature, one would expect a better reaction. Love does change you and make you do crazy things, but at this moment, this behavior or portrayal of love in Bilal Abdullah is not sitting well with many audiences.
What is Ammar Up To?
Oh Ammar, what are you up to? And what do you want? Will you ever be able to overcome the doubt in your mind about Bilal Abdullah and Sadaf? We were surprised to see him pretending to be unwell last week.
Ammar and Hamsha: Partners in Crime?
