Dazzling, musical, spellbinding, and very Mahira! Hum TV released the Superstar trailer last night and the audience was treated to 3 minutes of pure viewing pleasure. After the first song reveal of Bekaraan, Mahira and Bilal Ashraf fans were waiting desperately for the Superstar Trailer reveal and it ‘happened last night’!
From the vintage feel of the opening scenes, to the dreamy background score and soothing vocals, to the utter brilliance of Mahira’s Khan’s transformation; the vintage sets, the costumes, the choreography, the vibrant street feel sets and the utter cinematic glory that unrolled on the screen left the audience wanting more.
Superstar – The Trailer delivers smartly-assembled bite-sized teasers of the drama; both glorious and heart-wrenchingly cruel, that go into the making of a SUPERSTAR!
A budding love story between Sameer Khan (Bilal Ashraf) and Noor (Mahira Khan) takes a tragic twist and drama unfolds as both move on to lead separate life journeys.
The story line might not be the most original, but the scripting and the execution is so well-placed that one wants to keep watching.
The trailer gives away ‘just enough’ but not the whole “PICTURE”. Kudos to smart editing and intelligent cuts. Full marks to the production team for acing this one.We seem to ‘KNOW’ the story, but only ‘JUST’.
The onscreen appearance of veteran actor Nadeem Baig definitely warmed hearts, while Osman Khalid Butt and Mahira Khan dancing to a hip-swaying beat, kept the audience enthralled.
Perhaps the pairing of Bilal Ashraf and Mahira Khan will score a 10 with audiences who have been craving a magical onscreen couple since the days of Mahira and Fawad, and who better to slip into our hero’s shoes than the six pack-flaunting Bilal Ashraf .
Move over Fawad Khan, you have serious competition! Bilal Ashraf is here to steal the hearts of Pakistani audiences!
Watch out for the ‘shirtless shot’ rendered by the six pack- flaunting Bilal Ashraf, it adds an oomph factor to the already awesome feel to the trailer. Salman Khan or Ranveer vibes? Well, why not? Yet, perhaps the ONE scene that stands out for color, choreography, moves, lyrics, and ‘hotness’ factor was Osman Khalid Butt and Mahira Khan dancing to Noori!
Despite the flawless reveal, Superstar Trailer scenes did feel inspired from a handful of cinematic takes from across the border – Madhuri and Ranbir’s Ghaagra, Kareena’s Heroine, Madhuri’s Aaja Nachle, Kareena’s Bole Chooriyan and – ahem, Lux Soap adverts. But taking inspiration from the best and putting a spin on it is not a bad thing at all. After all, Superstar IS about dance, music, song and cinematic brilliance – topics that have been played out several times, with resounding success, on this side of the equator!
A shout out to the musical compositions and the ace vocals. Both the opening song ‘Raaz thi ab khuli hai’ and ‘Noori’ stay with the audience. Azaan Sami Khan has hit it out of the park in this one.
The dance choreography is above par, and the dialogues seem to promise more than just a picture perfect production. Momina & Duraid, you might just have got the formula right this Eid!
Watch out for guest appearances from Syra Sheroz, Kubra Khan, Hania Amir and OKB the cinematic debut of Alizeh Shah.

We hope the trailer delivers what it promises, and this is NOT another Bin Roye! And finally, who will rule the box office? Heer Maanja, Parey Hut Love or… Superstar.
