Tamasha Season 5: Saqib Sumeer’s Out, Was He Too Nice Or Just Not Chaotic Enough?

As a Tamasha viewer, I have to say this: Saqib Sumeer’s elimination is, by far, one of the most unfair evictions in the history of Tamasha.

Tamasha Season 5: Saqib Sumeer's Out, Was He Too Decent Or Just Not Chaotic Enough?
Tamasha Season 5: Saqib Sumeer’s Out, Was He Too Nice Or Just Not Chaotic Enough?

I don’t think we have seen a more mature, sane and well-balanced person in Tamasha before, someone who is equally competitive and strong, has a good sense of humour, constantly spreads positivity wherever he goes, actively participates in discussions, and yet somehow wasn’t “noisy” enough to be seen. Is that what gets you out of Tamasha?

I never commented on Maysum’s elimination, but that was unfair too. What the Tamasha team is doing this year is completely non-understandable. But one thing has become very clear now: they need noise, good or bad, it doesn’t seem to matter.

Saqib Sumeer’s elimination has made it very clear that if you’re not noisy, don’t make problematic statements, and don’t fight without a reason, you will be shown the door. Not by the audience’s votes, mind you.

Because if the audience had voted him out, no one would have called this unfair. But it was very clear on Sunday morning, when Saqib was constantly trending across various platforms, with viewers calling the elimination unfair and demanding that he be brought back. I know that probably isn’t going to happen, but this entire situation feels like it was planned in a way that reminds me of what happened with Maysum.

Let me take you guys back.

The Pre-Planning?

We have seen Esra repeatedly and quite openly defy Wazeer’s orders, shouting, fighting and even going below the belt, not only with Wazeer but with several other contestants too. But did we witness Badshah giving her any punishment for her behaviour? No.

Yet when Maysum said no to working under Wazeer Esra, she was made unsafe for the entire week.

Why? Does Badshah or the team have any explanation for this? Probably not, because there doesn’t seem to be a fair explanation for such a blatant decision.

Maysum was made unsafe for the entire week and wasn’t allowed to participate in tasks that could have helped her save herself, only to be eliminated on the final day. If you notice the pattern, something similar seems to have happened with Saqib Sumeer.

When Laila was Wazeer and was about to make what Badshah considered a biased decision, Badshah called her out right there and stopped her from making the mistake. But when Zayb was Wazeer and made the decision to take Saqib and Babrik out of the game, Badshah didn’t utter a word. Why, though?

Why did he let Zayb make that mistake? Why was Laila stopped, while Zayb was seemingly given the ground to make his decision.

And why did Badshah keep saying, “Aapke ghalat faislay ki wajah se in mein se koi ghar bhi ja sakta hai,” referring to Babrik and Saqib, when there were still three or four games left for them to save themselves?

Why keep giving those hints? Why not simply stop Zayb from making the decision in the first place?

At this point, even if the team tries its hardest to convince us otherwise, the audience can very clearly see what is happening inside that house.

And what makes this even more confusing is that there are still lesser-known, and arguably less-liked, contestants in the game, while someone who was loved not only outside the house but also inside it has now been eliminated.

Every single eye was teary when Saqib Sumeer was stepping out. And honestly, that is what he has earned from this season:

RESPECT. ONLY RESPECT AND LOVE.

Babrik Shah: The Ace Player Of Tamasha Season 5?

You can agree or disagree with me, and you can like him or not, but Babrik Shah is an ace player. And after this week, I am convinced of it. The way he noticed Hassan’s gameplay, understood his timing, and then completed the task in just 35 seconds to save himself was genuinely impressive.

And honestly, it was a slap in the face of everyone who has constantly age-shamed him. He has beaten boys half his age simply by being quicker, more mindful and more strategic.

That has been Babrik’s strategy throughout the season. He observes, plans, plots and somehow, more often than not, it all ends up working in his favour.

He has a very sharp mind. More importantly, he observes people very keenly. He knows who can resist pressure for how long, who will perform best when he isn’t paying attention, who is likely to lose their nerve, and somehow, he keeps getting his predictions right.

And we are sold.

So far, Fasih and Babrik are safe. Let’s see who gets eliminated this week.

Prediction? It could be Ramsha or Sahrish. They haven’t really done anything particularly memorable in the game so far, especially Ramsha.

But then again, with the way this season has been going, who knows what the makers have planned next?

Who’s your favourite in the game? Let us know in the comments!
