4 Ways Rania from Tere Aany Se Is Giving Us Girl Goals That Go Beyond The Obvious

Ramazan dramas might have their characters cut out and while some argue that it’s another season of the same old, there are some characters still, who attempt to stand out and give goals that are not your average, run-of-the-mill stereotypes.
Rania is one such character in Tere Aany Se – sending out strong girl feels with the right blend of messaging, owning her feminine side, and yet, manifesting courage, honesty, and outspokenness in ways that make her so much more relatable to the young girls watching.
1. Normalising Girls Traveling Alone
We have often seen girls driving a scooter or a bike in the city, but to normalize the practice in a village is next level indeed. Rania happily maneuvers her way around her small town independently which is so refreshing, in fact, soothing to the yes, if you know what we mean!
2. Girls Must Be Brave And Fearless Not Just Beautiful
Beauty, Courage & daring – Rania is all three with a healthy blend of outspokenness. Rania doesn’t hesitate to say the right in public and holds up the mirror to show us our hypocrisies. From calling out the husband who sent inappropriate messages to telling off the samosa wala flirting with her as well as the mother-in-law attempting to get her son married again. Rania set goals highlighting honesty and daring where we need to hear and witness it.
3. Be Fair And Speak Up
Rania doesn’t let her youth get in the way of speaking the truth. Her character stands up for justice and hence, her telling of the lady who wore an expensive jora, but refused to pay the fruit seller his fair price, was told off promptly by Rania. Again, her response to the mother-in-law forcibly marrying off her son a second time for the sake of bearing her grandchildren was exemplary.
4. You Don’t Have To Let Go Of Your Feminine Side
Rania does not fall prey to the expectation that if you are empowered, outspoken, and fearless, you have to let go of your feminine side. Often dramas depict a version of the strong, intimidating women with a hardened exterior and borderline masculine mannerisms – Rania does not take on this stereotype.
She appears well groomed, owning her femininity, and yet, stays that version of empowering we would love to see play out on screen! This makes her so much more relatable to the average young girl who’s watching her – in fact, Rania could be any young girl amidst us, and that is what makes the goals she sends out so much more appealing!
Komal Meer is portraying the character of Rania in Tere Aany Se and doing a splendid job so far. She is vivacious with the right mix of courage and honesty. It is hard to play a character that is not your ordinary young girl next door and yet is, in a way – Komal seems to be striking a balance in this Ramazan drama so far.
