The Duchess of Sussex’s Variety cover story gives us an insight into the world of Meghan Markle. She talked about her life, children, the possibility of returning to Hollywood & more.
On September 14, the publication identified Meghan as one of the honorees for the special issue, but the publication of her cover was delayed “out of respect for the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II,” who passed away at the age of 96 on September 8. Along with the Archetypes host, this year’s Power of Women circle recognized Malala Yousafzai, Elizabeth Olsen, Oprah Winfrey, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Ava DuVernay, and Elizabeth and Oprah Winfrey.

1- Meghan Shares How She & Harry Are Grieving The Queen
Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth on September 8, the Duchess of Sussex expressed her appreciation for the outpouring of support. When the Queen, passed away, the couple was in Europe for a series of charity events with storied causes, and Meghan was grateful to be there for her husband.
“What’s so beautiful is to look at the legacy that his grandmother was able to leave on so many fronts,” Meghan said of the Queen’s legacy. “Certainly, in terms of female leadership, she is the most shining example of what that looks like. I feel deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with her and get to know her.”
She continued, referring to Prince Philip, who passed away in April 2021 , and saying, “It’s been a difficult period, but my husband, ever the optimist, said, “Now she’s reunited with her husband.”
2- Will She Return To Hollywood?
Meghan, who, along with Prince Harry, is working on several projects with streaming providers Netflix and Spotify, said that she was “done” and that she intended “to definitely not” go back into acting, though she said “never say never”
Meghan made a quick mention of the #MeToo movement when discussing her TV career. She told the trade magazine, “At the time, we didn’t have a term for it. “Just a few things were generally acknowledged. You simply put up with whatever discomfort if it existed.”
3- Meghan & Prince Harry Share A Home Office
The Duchess of Sussex revealed that she and her husband work out of the same room in their Montecito, California home. “We work from home, as most people started to do during lockdown,” she said. “It allows us to have significant time with our kids at this really special moment in their lives. We’ll never get this time back.”
As for their work styles, Harry is “very good at responding on text,” while Meghan says, “I try to be as fast as possible on email. I’ve always said, if it takes less than five minutes, do it now.”
4- Meghan Talks About Her Aspirations For Her Kids
“When you become a parent, you genuinely want your kids to find the things that bring them complete joy,” Meghan said. “They’re our kids, obviously, and they’re part of a legacy and a tradition and a family that will have other expectations. But I want them to be able to carve out their own path. If it’s the entertainment industry, great. And also, good luck. There are so many people that will talk about what opened the door for my children. But it still takes talent and a lot of grit. We’re creating multidimensional, interesting, kind, creative people. That’s who our kids are.”
5- What She Aims To Achieve With Her Podcast Archetypes
“I think that what happens, looking in from the outside, when there is this much noise, is that you become dehumanized. But if you remember that someone is a human being, then you don’t treat them, talk about them, look at them the same way. My hope for “Archetypes” is that people come out thinking, Oh! She’s a real person! She laughs and asks questions and approaches things with curiosity.”
