The book turned show, The Summer I Turned Pretty on Amazon Prime has just been renewed for season 3. Here’s what we think, expect and hope!
In the mood for a mental vacation? Want some summer beach vibes? The Summer I turned Pretty is a show you would like. Writer Jenny Han’s teen drama book converted into the series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” has now been renewed for season 3 on Amazon Prime Video.
The show stars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard. The plot circles around Isabel “Belly” Conklin, who is on the brink of turning sixteen. She along with her mother and brother visit Cousins beach as they do in a tradition every year, together with Susannah Fisher and her two sons, Jeremiah and Conrad, whom Belly has had a crush on since she was ten. Will this summer and the ones to follow be the same or unfold new beginnings and ends?
As the show’s season 2 soon airs its last episode, Amazon has deemed their show to be one of the 10 most-watched seasons among any and all series on Amazon Prime Video which premiered on July 14th.
New Characters In Season 2
If you are still yet to catch up on season 2 but have binge watched 1 already, here’s letting you know you will come across 2 new characters in season 2.
Elsie Fisher plays another new character in The Summer I Turned Pretty cast: Skye, Julia’s non-binary child and cousin to Conrad and Jeremiah.
Kyra Sedgwick plays Julia, the half-sister of Susannah, who arrives at the summer house in hopes to sell it against the wishes of the Fisher brothers.
These two new characters are surely brewing tons of drama in season 2.
We Can Expect A Lot More Summer To Look Forward To In Season 3!
“This charming, deeply heartfelt series has shown the breadth of our customer base, appealing to a young, diverse set of viewers. Jenny Han is a gifted storyteller, whose fans have been clamoring for the third chapter of this story. We’re excited today to share the news that they have a lot more ‘Summer’ to look forward to.” shares Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios.
Our POV & Hopes For Season 3
ATM, It hurts to see golden retriever like, Jeremiah bitter this season. Is his one sided love going to continue to turn him into a cynical person (his literal opposite personality) or will he find his eventual happiness? With a new love interest? Because we just don’t see him and Belly together, because for us it’s Belly and Conrad who are the actual endgame!
If you haven’t watched the show as yet, we recommend you do! It’s the perfect summer watch with the dreamy beach views, friendships – young and old, a love triangle, a tinge of sadness and a whole lot of tumultuous teenage feels.
