When India’s heart-throb Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistan’s fan favourite Hania Aamir came together onscreen in the Sardaar Ji 3 trailer drop, fans just got a dream pairing they thought they might have lost to cross-border tensions. But when it is meant to be, it will be, and this time, the excitement is hitting a crescendo, just like one of Diljit’s chart-topping musical hits.
The just under 3-minute Sardaar Ji 3 trailer teases action, comedy, romance, satire and a sprinkling of horror — a summer watch that promises nothing less – bumper entertainment to beat the heat. The trailer teased a Ghostbusters-like story where Hania’s character will be commissioned to take out the supernatural intruders. But can she do it? Perhaps with a little bit of help from Jaggi aka Diljit’s character, that might be possible.
From elegant saris to tailored cuts, Hania Aamir is pulling off the look comfortably and with style. There is a refreshing feel about the frames and the wardrobe department has pitched in to give us new and improved looks, one that don’t make the viewer do a head-turn to ask: “Have we seen it before?” Diljit too, is rocking his outfits and the two seem to share quite the chemistry onscreen.
Questions fans asked: Could Hania pull off the Punjabi accent, this being her first Punjabi film? Yes, she can, and the trailer serves up enough evidence! In fact, her fans will be super chuffed to watch her onscreen. Not just that, but for those who aren’t too fluent in Punjabi, the film offers up simple Punjabi dialogues with a whole lot of punch. The script department must be lauded for including all audiences in keeping the Punjabi feel, yet not missing out on the comic timing that often comes as a given with the language.
The film has dabbled in special effects with apparent success as visions of ghosts emerge, set against sprawling greens, a historic castle and more, in rural Scotland, United Kingdom.
And let’s pause a moment to mark Gulshan Grover’s return as the villain. That’s something we’re looking forward to! For those who say, the villain seems to arrive on the scene in typically cliched-villainic style, well that’s just the point! We can hear fans will say: “But that’s exactly how we wanted it.” Sardaar Ji 3 trailer seems to play on fan vibes, keeping audience emotions in mind when fielding a playful, fun-filled summer extravaganza for Hania Aamir x Diljit Dosanjh fans that catches the pulse of the fan beat in every frame; check dialogues, outfits, comic timing – it’s all there.

One thing that stand out in its glaring absence — Hania Aamir’s name does not appear in the trailer along with all other cast credits. Keeping in mind the prevailing cross-border tensions, one can put down any number of reasons for this miss.
But hold on folks, let’s not throw a damper on things and look forward to June 27th. Mark the date as Sardaar Ji 3 is all set to release to an overseas audience (skipping an Indian release) that can’t wait to catch their beloved stars on the big screen!
Diljit’s team have clarified, specifically for their Indian audience why they’re not releasing in India. As it was shot before the Pahalgam incident, and they clarified no Pakistani was added on board after that.
