It’s time to recollect the best of the best or not(?) as we breeze through the dramas that made it on our radar! Scroll down to catch up on Mere Humsafar, Habs, Mor Moharan, & more.

dramas, mere humsafar, mor moharan,

Mere Humsafar – Not Ending Anytime Soon?

Let’s begin with Mere Humsafar because it really doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon, or is it? Hala has no place to go and Hamza’s wishful thinking that she’ll step back into the lion’s den aka Shah Jahan’s home is really a lot of wishes that ahem…we don’t think will come true so fast!

Shah Jahan did make a comeback in the latest episode and what a comeback it was. Poor Hala catapulted into a tornado of emotions, none of them good. Mere Humsafar, for those who care to see it, is highlighting abuse at a very intense level – and for Hala to pull herself out of this one is not really something Hamza can do alone. He needs help.

Did I hear therapist anyone? Might be a good idea to consider one.

Anyway, Hamza showed us that he can continue to do his flips too, and walked out on Khurram and Hala, this time, he had zero content to worry about. No dodgy dialogues exchanged between Hala and Khurram. What? You say it’s too much for any man to digest his wife sitting alone with another guy, and I say, wait a minute, but it’s Hamza, not any other guy, right. The same Hamza who wanted to give Hala her own home and fly her to London for further studies. But, you say, it’s also the same Hamza who also sulked before Hala and told her that spending his life with her is a punishment. Yeah, Hamza has many shades. Let’s see which one wins eventually!

Plea to Mere Humsafar makers, wrap it up, will you? It’s about time, please!

Habs Is Not Coming Slow

Habs you are not far behind. But this time the hero’s rage is directed towards his mom, not the unsuspecting wife. Basit’s mom received an earful and a half from him on his birthday. Though I wonder why she didn’t remember it was her only son’s birthday earlier. Do you think his pain was justified? Perhaps it was, though Sadia aka Irsa Ghazal cut a sad figure, and well done there on performances from the entire team!

Another one to watch out for is Zoya aka Janice Tessa who is blowing us away with a fab performance! What is the plan and how will she get what she wants? The story stands at a tender moment, Zoya not holding back and Basit matching her emotions on the other side.

It is but with a breath of fresh air that we see Bano aka Dania Enver deliver an uplifting role in back to back episodes. It is so refreshing to see supporting roles carrying the show and this one’s a winner.

Mor Moharan – A Breath Of Fresh Air

Speaking of fresh air, Mor Moharan has really got us. It’s Ahmed Gardezi vs Sikander and it seems Ahmed has the upper hand for now! But can we say that Sonya Hussyn and Zahid Ahmed’s onscreen chemistry is just love! Mor Moharan is reaching epic levels as far as commitment to the narrative and story line goes.

We’re loving Rohi’s dilemma. She’s quick-witted, intelligent, sincere and also, full of emotion. How will her heart decide between the two men in her life who seem to be making her stare at the moon late night to seek her answers? Tough one that. Both Mustafa Changazi and Zahid have turned out an engaging performance. If you’re not watching this one, you’re missing out. It’s airing on TV One!

Meray Humnasheen – Khajista’s Speech Takes The Cake

Onwards to Meray Humnasheen then where Khajista just won the speech of the day as she revealed the prejudices that lie within the system and moreover, amongst the student body. It was an eye opener for many, for others, just another day, those who go through them at least!

Meray Humnasheen is serving up quite the messages there; the urban-rural divide is real and it probably grows larger than life within educational institutions, especially when competition to land admission, quota seats and merit are in question. Khajista’s is a hard cross to bear as she balances her traditional upbringing and modern day education – real world problems that must have hit home for so many young girls.

On another level, Darakhzai seemed to have won back audience love, and we suspect, Khajista’s too as he drove her home. He confessed his feelings, oh so pure and held on to her hand. Ahsan Khan and Hiba cut an endearing picture while poor Hadi’s stars roam the galaxies – he is definitely not in a good place now! Meray Humnasheen and I won’t even go into Shanzae and Amroz’s story which is love itself, is giving us reasons to watch so do drop in for episode(s) next. Lots happening there, and the interesting thing is, we actually cannot predict the story line! Good work there writer Shahla Shakoor and director Siraj ul Haque have us stumped!

And Finally, We Wrap Up With Pehchaan!

What went wrong here? Does the identity of a woman mean giving up and/or abandoning her children? Pehchaan seems to be wrecking the cause rather than strengthening it, if that were the cause? Kuki needs a shake and a half although we admire her ability to get up on her feet, become financially stable and that too, without her (problematic) family’s help. But we wonder why she should not confide in her parents.

In fact, before that, Adnan needed an explanation before she walked out on him. Her children needed to be spoken to by two responsible parents and none of that is happening! Oh dear, it is Aziz mian who is hoping his life shines with Kuki’s re-entry although that might not really transpire. Ever.

Pehchaan started off taking on a worthy cause but has, unfortunately, run around in circles, giving us reasons to doubt, criticize and become frustrated at the direction the narrative seems to be going in.

And that’s your Dramas of the week for now. Keep on watching. “A life devoid of drama is a life unlived”, said no one, but have a heart, and keep watching!
