Tuba Anwar & Junaid Niazi AKA Farhat & Wasif From Baby Baji In An Exclusive With FUCHSIA!

Without compromising on the entertainment factor, Baby Baji seems to have been integrating positive messages for the audiences, should they choose to accept them. A possible new for daily soaps – maintaining the quality of content and performances both to be at par with the top dramas. The most viral drama that is currently, audiences’ guilty pleasure with characters relatable for every family. Baby Baji’ is directed by Tehseen Khan, written by Mansoor Ahmed Khan and features veteran actor Samina Ahmed as the lead in the story. As the drama defies all past trends of daily soaps, there’s also a lot of realism infused. Its a saas-bahu oriented drama but the kind with a message and breaking molds.

The parents Siddiqui, his wife’s anchor (Munawar Saeed) runs a shoe store and Baby Baji (Samina Ahmed) is the unifying force of the household as the mother of 4 sons amongst whom 3 are married. Each of the 3 son’s (Saud Qasmi as Jamal, Hassan Ahmed as Naseer and Junaid Khan as Wasif) wives’ are different and pose a different reality of the struggles for Baby Baji and depict many facets of society’s viewpoints. Azra (Javeria Saud) is the feisty, argumentative and rebellious daughter in law who wants to move out into a separate setting sparking the debate between joint families and nuclear families, Farhat (Tuba Anwar) is the younger daughter in law who is not afraid to speak up about her rights when needed and Asma (Sunita Marshal) the eldest is the most demure, meek daughter in law who cares for the well being of the entire family quite extensively but both her and her husband aren’t happy with their marriage!

This storyline sheds light on the various matters and perspective such as the consequences of individual and parental decisions, financial troubles, power dynamics in a desi household, mistreatment of women, females and their resilience, privacy vs protectiveness. We also see the younger son clashing with his mother to be able to choose his love but Baby Baji wants to be able to find her son a suitable partner herself.

We spoke to the youngest married couple in the daily soap drama, Baby Baji: Farhat & Wasif – Tuba Anwar & Junaid Niazi on their characters, POVS and more!

Tuba Anwar’s POV!

What Messages Do You Think Girls & Families Both Will Be Able To Take Away From Baby Baji & Family?

Very candidly she explained: “I personally feel, for everybody you or someone you know might be in a similar situation but most probably lack an outside perspective. You are living in the system but are usually unable to recognise the faults of the said system, so as a viewer who might be in the situation you are getting an outside perspective, one that makes you realise how it impacts us and those around us.”

“A lot of people hopefully could realise that they might be doing things that are wrong but they just obliviously consider them a part of normal life”

Do You By Any Chance, Relate To Your Character?

Almost instantly, Tuba replied: “Not at all! Farhat is very impulsive, I am not an impulsive person at all. I think through everything, I can take nights to think about things. Yes, Farhat is someone who stands up for her rights which I too believe in but that’s about it.”

What About The Girls Who Are In a Toxic System, Should They Be Patient Like Asma Or Vocal?

As she took a moment to gather her thoughts she replied: “I think, every person has a good and bad side. Farhat’s character I feel is the best in the sense she is at least speaking up for her own rights, a lot of people think it’s negative but not negative. It is indeed, your right to speak up for something wrong BUT kisi kay saath najaiz nae kero, batameezi aur ghussa bhi nae kero. Though speaking up and asking for privacy shouldn’t be counted as something negative.”

Your POV On The Joint Family System?

Truly looking utterly confused, she said: “Not sure about it because everything has its pros and cons! If the big family is nontoxic then it’s okay but if they wouldn’t respect your privacy then it’s a no to living in a joint family.”

What Are The Key Factors For A Good Saas?

“No. 1, she would give you privacy, no. 2, respects that as a girl you are going to their home, acknowledges the effort that I’m leaving my home for you and your son, so it’s crucial to maintain the balance and not get jealous!”

Junaid’s POV!

What Messages Do You Think Girls & Families Both Will Be Able To Take Away From Baby Baji & Family?

Junaid’s point of view was very convincing and one that’s gotten on with the times.

Joint families are a good thing BUT as time passes, everyone has a nature and certain decisions they make, if you are not able to work it out and have issues it’s best to separate. Respect is the key and as far as love goes, it can still stay if you separate your living thus life is peaceful. If parents believe in their upbringing, they will have faith in you taking care of them even after separating.

Do You Relate To Wasif As A Husband & Son?

What came next was a very pleasant surprise!

“Yes, I am quite so like Wasif. My father had been in the army so life at home was mostly dictated by his decisions, The same transpires for Wasif, his father is strict but loves him. … I am too quite emotionally sensitive just like Wasif. Wasif has certain issues and problems at home but is unable to say anything so he keeps quiet and expresses himself by crying.”

Junaid shared a take we appreciate so much: It’s wrong how society has created a stereotype about men not feeling any pain, emotions or crying. Men who can’t cry are actually really weak. Why do we consider fighting, raising your voice or hitting a woman as something manly? To be short that person is not even Human”

How Can One Strike A Balance Between Their Families & Wives?

So he gave us a backstory into how “Wasif did try but he barely completed university and was rushed off to get married and then his father wanted him to not get a job but instead sit at the family shoe shop. Wasif is not really mature enough to tackle the issues at hand“

He believes in implementing a balance between his wife and parents. He says it’s imperative to listen to whoever is right and says he is a staunch supporter of giving both their due respect.

Biwi ki izzat shohar karwata hai, agar nae karwata tou kis kaam ka shohar hai aur agar maake
izzat nae karwa sakta, tou kis kaam ka beta hai.

What Is Your Viewpoint On Getting Married As Per Your Parents Choice?

He believes your parents would never knowingly want something bad for you and if they decide something it is mostly always best for you. “Though it depends, if you think you have some one in life who can groom you, who you can grow with as a person! Whether it’s a love marriage or an arranged marriage, the woman or man will be parenting your future generation. Both decisions can be right or wrong because marriage in itself is a bet! Even in love, you get to know the person fully once you start living with them.”

Junaid shared his life story: “I had an arranged marriage where my father made the choice. Post my marriage, my wife was the one who led me to my path in the entertainment industry. She was the one who forced me to go for my first ever audition. To date, daily my wife is the first to watch my episodes and give a rating, she is the one person who supports me the most. “

He reveals, he saw his wife for the first time on day of their marriage.

What Was The Best Part Of Working On The Sets Of Baby Baji?

Enthusiastically Junaid shared: “The best thing undoubtedly was the abundant positive energy and pure intentions of all the sets. The script, director and acting were great regardless but the good intentions mattered most. Nobody made it out to be a competition. We had a lot of fun on the set too.”

How are you liking Baby Baji? Is it merely your guilty pleasure or a drama shedding light on real life situations?
