The opening to last night’s episode faintly reminds us of something iconic: “Bond, James Bond” – “ASP, ASP Arsalan”, don’t you think so? He just might be Jhok Siyal’s very own James Bond! The heart stealing police officer with a grand agenda has taken on the reigns of the small town village and is set to make mega reforms. ASP Arsalan is clearly audiences’ favorite character these days and we can attest. He continues to ruffle feathers and not hesitate to go against the feudal big wigs, Peeral and Meeral, and is not some one who comes under pressure or can be controlled.
The episode this week has shed light on a matter which has very recently been in the global news. Kudos to the team for incorporating an integral heart breaking matter of human trafficking. ASP Arsalan gets the task to reprimand the ones involved in the act after a tip off from a villager. The last scene is shot really well, grabs your attention in a thrilling clash between the traffickers and ASP Arsalan and his clan. Has he shot Sassi’s brother Aslam or not? Looks like we will have to wait till next week to find out. We also await the curiosity peaking love triangle between Meeral, Sassi and ASP Arsalan, which we hope is soon to arrive on our screen.
We generally see sensational projects garnering more attention but this time when we saw Farhan Saeed and Jhok Sarkar on Twitter verse’s radar for its take on human trafficking, we felt there is indeed a redemption possible for Pakistani dramas and audiences.
