LOEWE ushers in the Year of the Horse with a visually striking short film starring its Global Brand Ambassador, Wang Yibo, created in collaboration with HOWE Magazine Thailand.

Rooted in the spirit of the Lunar New Year, the campaign unfolds through a series of immersive experiences inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns—timeless symbols of reunion, hope, and courage.
At the heart of the celebration is an animated short produced in partnership with Shanghai Animation Film Studio, reimagining Peng Wenxi’s beloved tale Little Horse Crossing the River. The film weaves a narrative of self-belief and bravery, while honoring LOEWE’s enduring relationship with China’s literary legacy and animation artistry.
Extending beyond the screen, LOEWE brings the festivities to life with curated lantern installations in Shanghai and Chengdu, alongside special celebrations at Nanjing’s historic Yiheyuan (Summer Palace). Each lantern design merges LOEWE’s signature aesthetic with traditional Chinese craftsmanship, architectural elements of the gardens, and Lunar New Year symbolism—transforming heritage spaces into luminous celebrations of culture, creativity, and renewal.
The year 2026 marks the Year of the Horse, the seventh sign in the Chinese zodiac. More specifically, it is a Fire Horse year, a combination believed to carry a distinct and dynamic energy. The Lunar New Year is expected to commence on 17 February 2026 and conclude on 3 March, ushering in a season of celebration and renewal.Fire Horse years are traditionally associated with optimism, momentum, and new opportunities.
Historically, these periods are thought to inspire confidence among the public and investors alike, often linked to economic expansion and forward movement. In 2026, much of this positive outlook is being attributed to rapid progress in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, which are shaping new possibilities across industries.
Within Chinese culture, the Horse symbolizes strength, resilience, and achievement. A well-known saying, “马到成功” (mǎ dào chéng gōng), captures this spirit perfectly—suggesting swift and decisive success, much like a horse charging to victory. The phrase reflects the belief that goals can be accomplished smoothly and with minimal resistance during such an auspicious time.
