Shehzad Roy In The News For Setting The Record Straight & Honouring Canine For His Service To The Nation
Earlier this week, Shehzad Roy made an appearance in the news twice. The first appearance was when he shared a viral video of children creating music with cans and containers and asked for their whereabouts and was successfully able to locate that they were from Hunza. However, days later, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher re-shared the video on Twitter where he mistook them as children from India and applauded their talents. Roy was quick to correct him and tweeted that these talented kids were from Pakistan and he was in the process of sending them all the musical equipment they needed to hone their talent(s).
His second appearance in the news was when he took to Instagram to honour the memory of Hawk who was a canine in the Pakistan Custom’s K-9 drug detector squad for the past three years and had passed away recently after losing his eyesight whilst performing his duties in the noble fight against narcotics. Shehzad Roy went on to explain that this condition wasn’t uncommon amongst sniffer dogs and that their service and sacrifices for the country should be appreciated and celebrated. Thank you, Shehzad Roy, for shedding light on all that sniffer dogs do for our country, they play an integral role in keeping us safe and we thank them for their service!
Sonya Hussyn Calls Out Lux Style Awards For Double Standards

After the Lux Style Awards 2021 nominations were announced, Sonya Hussyn was disappointed that her drama, ‘Saraab‘, had failed to make the cut. She expressed via her Instagram stories that she had seen a trend that dramas were solely nominated based on their popularity and the high viewer ratings instead of the quality of their content. ‘Saraab’ aired on Hum TV and was centred around patients suffering from schizophrenia.
“It is very disappointing to see that a project like Saraab did not bag even a single nomination at the Lux Style Awards 2021. We talk about the need for meaningful content that also educates the masses with real issues but when [such content is] finally created they’re hardly ever recognised/nominated for awards. Aren’t those double standards?,” questioned Sonya Hussyn on Instagram.
