Pakistani dramas have long thrived on stories of heartbreak, oppression, and the tragic journey of women waiting for a hero to rescue them. Time and again, we’ve seen female characters who silently bear endless injustices, only to be saved by a kind, understanding man. But slowly and steadily, that narrative is shifting – 7th Sky Entertainment is trying to change the long-written and replayed script with something new, unconventional, and strong.
This is the very team that brought us Dayan and Khaie – thriller narratives where a woman stands tall and fights for herself rather than waiting to be rescued. And now, the production house is following it up with yet another drama that seems to promise the same fiery energy – a woman who refuses to play victim, and instead takes matters into her own hands.
A 7th Sky Entertainment project under the creative eye of Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, the upcoming drama (title still under wraps) is bringing together an ensemble cast featuring Laiba Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Aagha Ali, and Syeda Tuba Anwar – and the storyline already feels like a blend of revenge, love, betrayal, and power games.
A New Drama That Puts Laiba Khan In The Driver’s Seat Of Her Own Revenge
So what’s the story?
At its heart is Laiba Khan, playing Alizay – a young woman determined not to fall for any romantic distractions, and instead laser-focused on punishing those who brought pain to her, her sister and grief to her family. Alizay is no damsel in distress; the teasers suggest she has a clear plan to settle scores, seeking justice against the very people who thought they could exploit and abandon her and her loved ones without facing consequences.
Aagha Ali steps into the role of a man who seems to have a romantic link with Alizay’s sister (played by Syeda Tuba Anwar), only to betray her trust, setting off a chain reaction that forces Alizay to act. Meanwhile, Mikaal Zulfiqar plays Aagha Ali’s brother, adding another layer to the drama’s web of shifting loyalties and buried secrets. Together, these four pivotal characters – Alizay, her sister, and the two brothers – form the backbone of a narrative charged with tension, strategy, and personal stakes.
Visually, the teasers showcase crisp direction by Mohsin Mirza, atmospheric lighting, and a thriller-inspired pace that promises to keep viewers engaged.
