If Pakistanis love to make anyone trend other than Atif Aslam (a weekly phenomenon), or Shahid Afridi, for that matter, it is news that someone has gone above & beyond the call of duty for their nation – yes, we are patriotic human beings, especially when the patriotism comes from someone else.
But to cut to the quick, and go low on the sarcasm, Muhammad Rizwan has been making news long after the semis are over & we’re loving it!

Muhammad Rizwan no doubt proved his mettle by whizzing in and out of the hospital to make it just in time for the World T20 Semi Final match between Pakistan & New Zealand. Not just that, but he made his time count on the field as he went on to break records, give Pakistan a fighting score on the board and made our exit from the T20 World Cup as graceful as it could possibly be.
This week, Pakistan’s cricketing heroes proved that our nation will come together to salute (and not troll) heroes if they’ve given their best on the field.

Muhammad Rizwan might not have won us the World Cup, but what he and the team accomplished in the UAE was no mean feat. We witnessed a team that played together, stayed together, where every match delivered a different player of the match – one man fighting does not a cricket team make, and you proved that in the T20 World Cup 2021.
However, Muhammad Rizwan’s contribution on the semi final day allowed us to hold our heads high, and inspired the entire team to deliver their best on the field.
