Do we as audiences only get hyped about dramas that have sizzling chemistry, toxic plots and saas bahu conspiracies? Because even though the progressively lofty messages Kuch Ankahi carries, it only seems to be coming out of the shadows again this past week.

Kuch Ankahi is the story of 3 empowered girls who are not brash about getting their rights but are headstrong with perseverance and know how to get their point across and stand their ground. Confident young, empowered girls are truly a credit to trusting and loving fathers as in the case of Agha Jan played by Mohammed Ahmed. Samiya, Aliya & Taniya are truly Agha Jan’s pride and Agha Jan knows what’s in each of his daughter’s hearts.
It’s not your average drama but aptly relatable content with the modern world we live in, from Aliya’s struggle in a male-dominated profession (Real Estate), to Taniya being allowed to pursue her media studies but also showcasing her challenge with body shaming. Phupo’s love life at an age where we consider women to not have a right to love, along with a very practical outlook on our justice system too. Sure, it has been receiving praise and acclamation since early on however we think somehow audiences were just waiting for another spark for it to trend again.
Kuch Ankahi seems to be just getting that spark again and twitter is full of praises for the hard-hitting story. With audiences relating to and appreciating the reflection of middle age romance in the case of Phupo, to Sheheryar and Sajal’s undeniable chemistry and Agha Jan’s continual support for his daughters. Let’s see the top POV’s of why Kuch Ankahi is back on audiences’ radar.
The Power Of A Father Daughter Dynamic
“#KuchAnkahi wins because of its layered complex writing at bay through its essence of human emotions & actions. If I had to accumulate a father daughter dynamic it would be this scene. The way it struck a chord, I don’t think I have words to describe the sentiment.”
Embracing Inclusiveness
“Watched the first three episodes of #KuchAnkahi. What a beautifully written emotional drama. #SajalAli as Aliya is rocking the show all over. And good to see a Hindu Family in a Pakistani drama though the depiction could have been more respectful. Overall, loving the show.”
Middle Age Romance Deserves Screen Time Too
“They’re TOO cute for words! Thanvi flirting is so and Phupho in her denial phase; this middle-age romance always hits different #KuchAnkahi“
Our New IT Girl
“Aliya is kind, emphatic, vulnerable yet strong, knows her worth, won’t take anyone’s shit, can make anyone weak in their knees. literally the IT girl.”
The New Pairing Tugging At Our Heartstrings
“Will never shut up about how they are the most gorgeous Pakistani tv pairing.”
Star Approved Drama
ZQ or Zainab Qayoom too approved of the incredible content that is Kuch Ankahi and her recommendation is enough in itself.
OMG, binge watched 6 eps of Kuch Ankahi and am in love, what an incredibly endearing & real, organic feels serial????????????????????from the dialogues, to the direction and the acting, par excellence.
We can’t wait for the next episode as it brings us more heartwarming moments, unmissable chemistry between Sajal and Sheheryar’s characters and more inspiration for girls to stand their ground in today’s world.
