Have nothing to do this weekend? It’s time to unwind and binge-watch these 4 Netflix shows. Read ahead to find out which ones we are talking about.

While everyone talks about the latest shows on the block, we’re taking you on a walk down memory lane, as re-reminisce on some of the top shows for us. From crime boss to quirky family, we give you the adrenalin rush in 4 Netflix shows to escape to and unwind! Have you watched any of these?
1. Breaking Bad – For The Science Lover In You!
Walter White and Jesse Pinkman – The iconic duo! A well planned and paced story, with some notable performances from Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. The story revolves around a highschool professor, who’s battling lung cancer. In order to make money and save up enough for his family, he teams up with former student Jesse for cooking and selling meth.
The show follows their venture, the ups and downs, in their work and personal lives and the effect it has. Binge watching it is no problem. 5 seasons and it took me 5 days because yes, it’s that good! P.S. if you’re into science or chemistry, you’ll love it even more!
2. Peaky Blinders – Dive Into The Ultimate Crime Thriller
By the orders of the Peaky Blinders, watch Peaky Blinders! It’s that simple.
Created by Steven King, Peaky Blinders is based upon the lives and business of the Shelby family, who rule the streets of Birmingham. Lead by Thomas Shelby (played by the blue eyed beauty, Cillian Murphy), a crime boss set to take on everyone and rule England. His surprised, yet short lived love story, relations with his brothers and his business dealing have a legacy of their own!
First episode aired in 2014 and the series released it’s finale last year Fans bid farewell with a heavy heart.
3. Suits – For The Lawyer In You!
Into law or the legal world? if yes, Suits is for you. Harvey Specter (one of the most jaw dropping lawyers we have ever seen) hires Mike Ross as an associate, but he is not a Harvard graduate. (In fact, he’s not even lawyer either!) Can he keep that a secret?
Closing and winning deals, cases is not a big deal for them. The show created by Aaron Korsh, follows their dealing, the lives of their peers and much more. Secret: Harvey and Louis’ love hate relationship and antics is one of the many best things about the show.
Sitting here and writing this, I might just go and watch Peaky Blinders. Suits clips and shorts on YouTube, Breaking Bad in the past week, this is the drean life. (Yes, without university and classes, life is just that good!)
4. The Umbrella Academy – Your Dysfunctional Family Relief
The Umbrella Academy is set in an entirely different and ‘weird people’ universe! 43 women around the world give birth simultaneously at noon on October 1, 1989, although none had shown any sign of pregnancy until they went into labour. Seven of these children, who have eccentric superpowers (just like their personalities), are adopted by eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves and turned into a superhero team that he calls “The Umbrella Academy.” But their adopted dad gives the children numbers rather than names, their robot-mother, Grace, later names six of them. Reginald puts six of the children to work fighting crime but keeps Vanya apart from her siblings’ activities, claiming she demonstrates no powers of her own.
The children have all grown up now and their peculiarities add to the overall sell factor of the show. You recognize each one of them for their powers, their dysfunctional behaviour and the childhood turmoil they struggle with in adult life. Their relationship with each other is one many supposedly (non) dysfunctional families might read into as well!
The series has streamed 3 seasons so far with the latest one released in June 2022. The Umbrella Academy is slated for a 4th and final season on Netflix in 2024.
Which of these Netflix shows have you watched or will watch? Plus, these are all easily accessible on Netflix, so grab your popcorn, sit back and watch away! Happy binging!
