Meet Hazim Bangwar, Karachi’s ex Assistant Commissioner has always been making waves across social media. Here’s what you need to know about the young former AC and why he had to resort to a social media post to address the public at large. Scroll down for his latest statement on all the trolling he has experienced so far.

Hazim Bangwar’s latest social media post allegedly refers to his attendance at the recent HUM Style Awards – an event he has been to refer to as the local MET Gala and why not?
Here’s what he had to say
I think that most people have forgotten that I’m human, and like any other human I too should be allowed to live my private life in peace.
I’ve left a life of luxury behind to serve my public. The price for which I pay everyday by being criticised, trolled, bullied, and threatened for simply dressing well.
Professional I’ve carried my office with respect and dignity and always dressed appropriately. No doctor or officer wear their gowns or uniforms outside their office but I guess I’m expected to.
My only aim is to serve my public as I have, and I hope to do that in peace.
Hazim turned out in a flamboyant display of fashion red carpet style at the Kashmir HUM Style Awards 2024 recently and why not? He has every right to flaunt the style he’s wearing, after all, it IS HUM Style Awards. However, perhaps Pakistanis are not really tuned into self expression unless it aligns with their fashion sense – but what a boring world that’d make, do you agree?
Here’s what Hazim wore at the Style Awards, celebrating style in the true spirit of the event, he posted:
Pakistan might not have Met Gala, but it has @humstyleawards and a lot of style and talent
However netizens resorted to what they do best, trolling a person online and throwing a blend of fashion policing and calling him out for not addressing Palestine on a public forum. The backlash instigated the above response from Hazim.

Karachi’s North Nazimabad was earlier home to Hazim Bangwar as Assistant Commissioner. Bangwar has recently given the CSS exams in 2018, and was appointed his first post as AC. The thirty year old is all set to make a change in Pakistan’s bureaucratic system. Bangwar had taken to Twitter to announce his new position.
Welcome folks, a privilege indeed!
North Nazimabad, it’s a privilege to serve you as your new Assistant Commissioner.
Why Does His Selection Have Mixed Views
Long story short, people are linking him to the LGBTQ community, (see tweet below), hence calling him out, all while questioning is he a good choice. Others are saying that he should be appreciated as he has come this far with his hard work and merit. Plus, a new face is also good as you never know, it might actually bring about a positive change.
His Background
It’s no surprise that Bangwar has quite the fashion sense. Having studied Fashion Design & Marketing at AIU London, the hype about his fashion choices also makes sense. This AC was a first in North Nazimabad we’re sure! Along with that, he has also holds an LLB from University from London. Safe to say North Nazimabad has a naya commissioner.
And that’s not all, in 2013, he released his first album, ‘One Man Army,’ and later went on to write songs for Jessie J, Future, Ciara, Jason Derulo and Nicki Minaj. Quite the career he has had! Here’s what the conversation at twitter is all about.
Twitter To The Rescue Here!
‘#Assistantcommissioner of North Nazimabad Karachi #hazimbangwar is better than those millions of fearful delusional government officers whose job is only to torment & trouble the people, he is the best & Ignorant are those who consider masculinity as a standard of performance’
‘Assistant Commissioner North Nazimabad Hazim Bhangwar has got this job not on the basis of his gender but on the basis of hardwork and ability. Only questions have performance and duty, Hazim fashion, clothes, sexual orientation and his life is personal matter.’
‘It’s Not a actor/Model. It’s New Assistant commissioner of North Nazimabad Karachi’
‘Why is there hype for #hazimbangwar ?? If someone doesn’t fulfill your toxic masculinity standard it doesn’t mean you are allowed to troll him, I will not say anything except “Asman ka thoka munh per ata hai” ‘
‘You have all the right to criticise him if he doesn’t perform his job well. But to make fun of how he conducts himself & his ideals is rubbish. You go #hazimbangwar !!!!’
‘In Our Society people Like Those bureaucrats who behave with them with terror and fear, stand at the door of the office, keep them as slaves, but a humanist, animal-friendly, art and creativity-loving officer is not likeable. !
‘After watching @HazimBangwar interview, I came to know that how down to earth & honest person he is, huge respect for him, Hope so he will bring some change in this corrupt society.’
But Then Some Are Questioning His Alliances?
One twitter user tweeted the following: ‘How is this even acceptable?????? Assistant commissioner of North Nazimabad, Hazim Bangwar supporting #LGBTQ another way of ruining and misleading our youth our nation.’
Hazim has responded with this statement:
We need more people like
@HazimBangwar Karachi you are making us proud! Although i feel sorry for everyone who needs to explain his gender to some block heads in our society. Keep working and shining- stay strong and stay impressive
It is perhaps, critical that we take time to pause and reassess a public personality’s position even though the social media trends influence us to believe otherwise. What are your views?
