Winter has started to show itself. The nights feel cooler, the air is getting drier, and suddenly staying in sounds a lot more tempting than going out. It’s that early-winter stretch where you’re not fully in holiday mode yet, but you’re definitely in the mood for something warm and comforting – which is exactly where Christmas movies come in.

Even with Christmas still a bit far off, Netflix already has plenty of festive films that are surprisingly perfect for this in-between season. A little romance, a little magic, a little snow on the screen – it just fits. So if you’re ready to settle in and enjoy the early coziness of winter, here are five Christmas movies on Netflix that make these chilly evenings feel a whole lot nicer.

1. A Merry Little Ex-Mas

In A Merry Little Ex Mas, Kate (Alicia Silverstone) and Everett (Oliver Hudson) are figuring out how to live together one last holiday season before they finalize their divorce. They have been separated for nine months, and Kate plans to sell the family home and start fresh as a green architect, but Everett shows up with his younger girlfriend Tess (Jameela Jamil) and suddenly the Christmas plans get a lot more complicated.

It is a messy, funny reunion full of vintage feelings, awkward conversations, and unexpected sweetness. Kate enlists help from a handsome newcomer named Chet (Pierson Fodé) to prove she is moving on, but as the family navigates regrets and hopes, they all wonder if one Christmas can really change everything.

A Merry Little Ex-Mas is a 2025 American Christmas romantic comedy film directed by Steve Carr and written by Holly Hester. It stars Alicia Silverstone, Oliver Hudson, Jameela Jamil, Pierson Fodé, and more.

2. Champagne Problems

In Champagne Problems, Sydney Price (Minka Kelly) is a high flying American exec who flies to the Champagne region of France right before Christmas. Her mission is to close a deal and acquire the prestigious Chateau Cassell. She is laser focused on business until she promises her little sister she will take just one night off and Paris does its magic. Over dinner and twinkling lights, she meets Henri Cassell (Tom Wozniczka), a charming local who sweeps her off her feet only for her to realize the very next morning that he is the heir to the vineyard she is trying to buy.

What follows is a beautifully bubbly romantic mess. Sydney must juggle her corporate ambitions with the genuine connection she has found in Henri while navigating stiff boardroom competition, quirky characters, and the complicated legacy of a family owned business. It is equal parts holiday whimsy and business deadlines, making you wonder if love can really outshine ambition especially around Christmas when everything already feels a little magical.

Champagne Problems is a 2025 American romantic comedy film written and directed by Mark Steven Johnson and starring Minka Kelly and Tom Wozniczka.

3. Christmas Under The Northern Lights

In Christmas Under the Northern Lights, a writer named Erin (Jill Wagner) is stuck in a serious case of writer’s block. To recharge, she heads to her old hometown, a snowy magical place famous for its Northern Lights, hoping the change in scenery will spark something. While she is there, she reconnects with a warmhearted local tour guide, Trevor (Jesse Hutch), who shows her the towns Christmas traditions, its hidden gems, and of course, the breathtaking sky full of dancing lights.

What follows feels like a page out of a holiday fairytale. Erins creative flame reignites, her relationship with Trevor starts to deepen, and she finds herself rethinking what home really means. It is a gentle feel good romance wrapped in snow, history, and wonder, the kind of movie that makes you believe in little miracles and big second chances.

Christmas Under the Northern Lights is written by Amyn Kaderali and directed by Ernie Barbarash. It stars Jill Wagner, Jesse Hutch, and Lauren Holly.

4. The Merry Gentlemen

In The Merry Gentlemen, Ashley (Britt Robertson) returns to her small hometown just as her parents beloved nightclub, The Rhythm Room, is facing financial ruin. Desperate to save the place that holds so many memories, she hatches a plan. She stages an all male Christmas themed revue complete with dancing, spectacle, and yes, a fair bit of cheek.

Luke (Chad Michael Murray), a contractor with surprisingly smooth moves, gets roped into the show despite his nerves and shirt. As rehearsals ramp up, so do sparks. Ashleys creativity and Lukes reluctant charm start to mix in ways neither expected. It is funny, festive, a little steamy, and full of holiday heart as the town comes together to save what they love.

5. Meet Me Next Christmas

In Meet Me Next Christmas, Layla (Christina Milian) is chasing her fairytale but instead of roses or poetry, she is trying to score tickets to a sold out Pentatonix Christmas Eve concert in New York City. During a delayed holiday flight, she meets James (Kofi Siriboe) in the airport lounge and the two hit it off enough to make a pact. If they are both single next Christmas, they will meet again at that very concert.

Fast forward a year. Layla has just discovered her boyfriend is cheating and now she is scrambling to find those elusive concert tickets. Enter Teddy (Devale Ellis), a friendly concierge whose job and pride depend on helping her track them down. What follows is a whirlwind of Christmas magic, from crazy scavenger hunts and lip sync battles to heartfelt confessions, and along the way Layla realizes that fate might have sent her someone even more surprising than she expected.
