The hype surrounding ‘Ishq e Laa’ is palpable! Directed by Amin Iqbal and penned down by Qaisra Hayat Sajal, the drama will (presumably) be a romantic thriller featuring the dynamos Yumna Zaidi, Sajal Ali and Azaan Sami Khan. ‘Ishq e Laa’ is set to air on Hum TV on Thursday the 21st of October and fans are already excited for another hit by Momina Duraid Production.
So far, the teasers have hinted at an engaging storyline with strong female leads- Sajal Ali will be an ambitious reporter side-stepping corrupt politicians to get to the truth while Yumnna Zaidi will play the role of a meek girl who dreams big of becoming a doctor. The drama promises dynamic character arcs for both female leads and we’re glad our drama industry is moving away from the stereotypical “bechari” characters. Meanwhile, Azaan Sami Khan is going to be Sajal’s love interest and so far, his debut role seems fairly narcissistic and elitist, but we’re excited to see what he has to offer nonetheless! Other notable cast members include Laila Wasti, Sohail Sameer, Uzma Hassan, Usman Pirzada, Simi Raheel and Adnan Samad who we saw as Gulzar in Ehd e Wafa.
‘Ishq e Laa’ feels like a social commentary on class-divide and female empowerment but only time will tell where the story will take us. The first one was sung by Azaan Sami Khan but the second one is yet to be released and we can’t wait to find out more!
4) The name of the drama (‘Ishq e Laa’) isn’t a part of the two title songs, which is uncanny for a Pakistani drama
5) ‘Ishq e Laa’ is filmed using the Arri Alexa Mini – which is normally used for films, so you can bet that the quality will be out of this world!
