The 78th Golden Globes took place over the weekend. While it gave us exquisite looks, there were more highlights too. Take a look at 6 winning categories here!
Great nominees, whether series, films or actors, the Golden Globes had it all! While it was a virtual event, with only a few actually present at the main venue, the award show had some golden highlights, AKA winners.
1. Best Motion Picture (Drama)
And the winner is…’Nomadland’
2. Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama)
And the winner is… Chadwick Boseman for ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”
This one hit hard and made us emotional (we shed a lot of tears). The late Boseman’s award was accepted by his wife, Taylor Simone Ledward.
His last performance as Levee was breathtaking, he gave it his all. His legacy will surely carry on forever!
3. Best TV Movie or Limited-Series
And the winner is…’The Queen’s Gambit’
The mini series has been the talk of the town for several months and we can’t get enough. So it’s safe to say, we couldn’t be more happier for this one!
PS. we impatiently wait for season 2!
4. Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Limited-Series, or TV Movie
And the winner is…
Gillian Anderson, ‘The Crown’
Anderson as the Iron Lady was the perfect fit! She truly gave a performance to remember!
5. Best TV Series, Comedy
And the winner is…’Schitt’s Creek’
For 6 seasons, Schitt’s Creek has been flying high! It’s the perfect combo of laughter and emotions. If you haven’t watched it you’re missing out!
6. Best Director (Motion Picture)
And the winner is… Chloe Zhao for ‘Nomadland’
Zhao made history, becoming the first Asian woman to win the Best Director award. She’s now the second woman to win this category at the Golden Globes after Barbra Streisand for Yentl in 1984.
These were a few highlights from the Golden Globes this year. Tell us what your favorite moment or win was!
Looking forward to the next red carpet event!
Oh and do you know that Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty is being adapted into a series?
