Kim is finally drawing closer to Dawood, he has won her respect, and possibly also her heart.

Dawood Just Hit A Sixer
“Mein iss rishtay ko wohi ehmiyat de raha hoon, jiska ye Rishta haq rakhta hai – mujhe bharosa hai tum par” – Dawood just hit a sixer with these dialogues– they captured our heart (and Kim’s too). The conversation was such a beautiful reflection of how a couple can communicate with each other and resolve misunderstandings without resorting to a shouting match, silent treatment or a blame game.
Dawood is earning Kim’s respect, not buckling under pressure imposed on him by his family to punish/scold his wife yet being courteous to everyone. He is a true example of how to keep the peace in a joint family system and not let ego spoil relationships. Can we have more heroes like him please?
Compassion Vs Hate
Zulfi and Kim’s conversation was heartfelt where Kim realizes her mistake and is also advised by Zulfi that Suraiya merely buckled under pressure -what a compassionate message to help Kim understand and also us, the audience, that young people often commit errors in judgement because of the immense pressure our society thrusts upon them, especially young girls.
Kim asking Dawood to not be harsh with Suraiya was a timely reminder – sometimes men are forgiving towards their partners, but not their sisters – one rule for all!
Waves Of Change
The waves of change in Dawood’s household are gradual but imminent. As Basharat contemplates why his daughter cannot choose whom she marries (as opposed to his own life decisions, always made by his father), we understand how he realizes that his decisions were overruled all his life and he wants better for his daughter.
“Saari shadian saal do saal ke baad ek jaisi ho jaati hain” – a sad statement from Razia, speaking the mind of many married couples probably as well as her own.
Iqbal & Suraiya’s Touching Conversation
“Mein tumse nafrat kar hi nahi sakti, … mein tumhe bhatiji nahi, beti samajhti hoon” Iqbal and Suraiya’s conversation was so touching. Suraiya explaining to phoppo that her right to fall in love with and marry whom she chooses is not a “gunah”, was so ironic. We hope these words will urge Dawood to act for his sister and also later, also ring true for Iqbal and Zulfi’s story to come to a happy end.
