Kabli Pulao is an entertaining, engaging, emotional yet lighthearted story of two people whom fate brings together in the most unexpected way.

Kabli Pulao is directed by Kashif Nisar and written by Zafar Mairaj, the drama airs every Tuesday at 8 pm only on Green TV.
The Story
Haji sahib meets Barbeena’s brother and helps him to pay off his debt but eventually ends up marrying her. Watch the drama to catch the complete story of how it all unfolds. We won’t spoil it for you…Kabli Pulao is simple and doesn’t burden you with intense emotions or heart-breaking events. Yet it is not devoid of feeling and makes one acknowledge the seriousness of the chain of events.
Haji Mushtaq, played by Ehteshamuddin, is a gentle, kindhearted, gullible character who has spent his life taking care of his siblings and their families. In this journey of life, he seems to have left his own self behind somewhere. Barbeena’s husband was killed in a bomb blast. Her brother wants to marry her off…
The Plot
The drama seems simple on the surface but digs deeper into concepts like how a widow sometimes doesn’t want to remarry and prefers spending her life alone. Which brings us to why Barbeena chooses to marry Haji Mushtaq, a man almost as old as her father, rather than a younger guy. He is also not interested in her and had helped her brother financially without any greed or ulterior motive. Perhaps her decision is driven by the hope that she will be safe with Haji and won’t have to be forced to marry someone who is not interested in her.
Characters
Haji Mushtaq on the other hand, is soft hearted and gives in when she persists on (and begs to), marrying him and no one else. Haii himself also has a past about which we will find out more as the story proceeds.
Another thing which makes it interesting is the fact that both Haji and Barbeena belong to completely different cultures and speak different languages, which might also pose a challenge. When he talks to her and a Punjabi line slips in, and when she responds in Pushto, the confusion brings a smile to your face.
Small yet endearing details like stopping at the tea place, Barbeena refusing to drink tea till Haji sahib gives it to her, advising her not to have “nakhras”, makes the story so much more interesting to watch.
Direction & Winning Performances
The best part is, that in a 39-minute drama duration, we get to see the face of Barbeena for the first time only in the final shot which has been pictured in an endearing yet dramatic manner, leaving one emotional and completely invested in the story at the same time.
Last but not the least, Kabli Pulao is supported by heart-winning performances, skillful direction and a very engaging script.
