Let us take you through the circus of Mein featuring, Watta Satta, Ego games, passing the blame and power games!

The Mein Circus, Ft High Society Watta Satta, Ego Games, Passing The Blame, Power Games … And The (So Far) Winner Is …

A circus is a vibrant and captivating spectacle where a diverse array of performers, from acrobats and clowns to skilled animal trainers and daredevils, come together to entertain audiences with their extraordinary talents and games. The circus is a world of wonder, where laughter, gasps, and applause fill the air as each act and game unfolds, leaving spectators in awe. Typically performed under a tent, in recent times it is more of an art form than a pure show. Ever been fascinated by a circus in your life before? Yes? No? Well, we will take you through one today. After last night’s episode of the trending drama Mein, we were left feeling as we had just witnessed a great spectacle, a circus of sorts.

As the events in the drama transpired, we struggled to keep our attention at just one scene, one aspect as the plethora of games and stunts were pulled off in the episode. Just as the circus – there was so much happening, with so many games, so many people involved all together, all at once battling it out, we struggled to keep our attention fixed, stay focused as we were left baffled and wondering. So, let’s break down the Mein circus for you.

The Games Being Played In No Particular Order:

Shaadi Shaadi, Tumhari Mein Aur Meri Mein (Ego), Experimental Watta Satta, The Richie Rich Money & Power Games & Last But Not The Least – Blame Games!

Shaadi Shaadi 2.0

Yes, the drama like most Pakistani dramas revolves around the scared union of desi marriages but especially orbits the OG game of Shaadi Shaadi. Remember the desi childhood game? Though, it probably takes it up a couple (hundred) notches above the childhood version. It imparts some valuable lessons – what’s the solution to the problems in your life? Shaadi. What is the source of all the problems? Shaadi. The two fathers seem to be leading the game (the perfect rishta uncles, in case you are looking for them) devising manipulative plans for their seriously ill-suited children to marry each other. They might be big industrialists and businessmen but let us tell you, their specialty is playing Shaadi Shaadi. Be it them or even Zaid, Ayra, Kashmala, Rayyan or Mubashira – they all just want to play Shaadi Shaadi with their lives. There really is no other stress or aim in their lives. How fortunately (or unfortunately) lucky!

Ego Games – Tumhari Mein Aur Meri Mein

Mein continues with the sometimes ruthless and bordering insanity and sometimes intensely interesting games of ego. Mubashira’s endless ego lives in quite a well-protected bubble. You’re her friend, her brother, her uncle, an employee, her designer? No matter who you are, you won’t be spared. She won’t stand being questioned, defied, rejected, humiliated or even being served the wrong coffee. Like, how dare you serve the princess with anger issues, the wrong coffee because she didn’t have her mother around? She will avenge you and make even your wedding night (the one you might have thought would be the most romantic moment of your life) hell. It goes without saying, we felt quite bad for Kashmala being bullied and spending her wedding night alongside her one and only, favorite (read: devil reincarnated) bhabhi. Probably not how Kashmala and Rayyan imagined their first night to be…Though even Rayyan seems to be playing both sides.

Now in a true circus manner turn of events and surprise, we see Zaid battling out the ego games with Mubashira. Mubashira has never not received an apology from someone but has to go back with Zaid without an apology. Never left her own room. Now she has been banished to the guest room. Never been left out to walk all the very long way up to the house? Well, Zaid even got that off her check list in a rather petty bid to humble her. It’s interesting to see how the clash of their egos will play out.

Let’s Bring Watta Satta Back?

Then comes in the mix, the experiment of the infamous, Watta Satta! A true circus act. It’s all about going back to the basics. So, what if our past generations have already demonstrated for us the (not so) joyous aftermath of the tradition? It’s only fair we give it another go and mix things up. It’s almost like a rigged, magic show. Couple A’s troubles and problems spark up fire in couple B’s. So now couple B attempts to resolve the problems of couple A and then it backfires at couple B and so on and so forth…. Case in point: Kashmala and Rayyan (Couple B) and Zaid and Mubashira (Couple a) What a show, what a spectacle! Wow

The Power Games

Then come the rampant power games. Oh, the drama simply cannot miss on giving us an extravagant display of the wealth, power and class both the families hold.
Zaid wants to wed Ayra? Oh no no, the prince and pauperess shall never be together! Zaid’s father: Let’s bully her brother and threaten him to kill her off so they back off. Now Ayra’s told Zaid the truth? How dare she? She is only a peasant who is after my grown, riddled with ego son. Let’s kidnap her brother and make her concoct a fake story! Because that’s how powerful we are.

And on that note, how can we not talk about the mega richie rich games – Breakfast? Wo tou Zaid Dubai mai karta hai. Gotta talk it out with my manipulative dad? Oh, Zaid would only do it on a yacht with bodyguards – just because that’s the only way to do it. A custom dress and diamond/Emerald jewelry in 2 days? Mubashira’s got it.

The Blame Game (Our Favourite)

You know how in the circus they love to juggle all sorts of things? Knives, balls, fire. That’s amateur, the characters in Mein love to juggle the blames! So, is it Mubashira’s fault as to how she might not be made for marriage? She says it is her father’s fault, her father blames it on her mother, her brother blames it on Mubashira. Is Zaid’s rebellion his father’s fault? Well Zaid blames his father, who blames it on Ayra who blames it on her brother who blames it on Zaid and Kashmala throws the blame right back in Ayra’s court. Phew, so much juggling, are they are not getting tired? Their arms and (consciences) must really be taking a hit, no?

Whose blame do you think it really is? Let us know in comments below.
