Were You Angry At Murad’s Double Dealing Or … Felt His Pain?
It might seem like a Saas-Bahu drama on the surface but in essence, Mannat Murad is a slightly exaggerated, yet very apt symbolic representation of issues within a joint family system … and the pressures faced by an only son, that we often fail to realize because we expect men to be brave, emotionally strong and problem solvers.
Murad Stuck Between His Wife & Mom
While Mannat tells Murad his actions were not driven because of her, she doesn’t know that it was to save their marriage that he left the house. Though a weak decision, but nevertheless, it was an effort to save his marriage with Mannat. Will this realization change Mannat’s attitude towards him? Mannat was shocked and broken hearted when Murad just passes by her to meet his mother first, ignoring her as if she wasn’t there. Maybe acknowledging her with a look or smile or even a hug wouldn’t have been that damaging.
Murad’s Compulsive Lying Habit
However, what we can’t fathom, and where Murad loses points, is his compulsive lying habit to seek sympathy from both women in his life as a form of defense and getting out of a sticky situation. Murad cross-questioning Mannat that she didn’t even ask “how or where he had been” was quite unfair, since he had been happily camping out at Athar’s. The question is, from a broken back to a sprained arm to Athar in the hospital, how long can Murad keep playing this game? Or does he have no other way out? Will Mannat stop be believing him eventually, even if he tells the truth?
A Mother’s Insecurity Can Destroy Marriages
Razia Sultana holds up the mirror to many mothers who fail to give preference to the emotional wellbeing of their sons, who choose and prefer to control their sons over giving them a chance to live a happily married life, whose insecurities weigh heavier on them than their wish to see their son happy. But she is also aware of the fact that he is the sole bread earner of the family, so she is a bit careful as she has noted Murad leaving the house because of Mannat.
Nudrat Has Eyes On the House
Looks like Nudrat will soon be going to stay at her mom’s home after the brainwashing she received from her husband. We wonder if Nudrat is really “mind controlled” so easily or in reality, deep down, she is also materialistic.
Fazilat vs Society – A Bitter Truth
Fazilat’s condition seems to be deteriorating, of course, pushed to the limits by a dialogue from her own sisters, which implies she is jealous of their marriage. As the promo shows, Mannat will suggest taking her to a therapist. It would be a great initiative and a great step in the right direction if the drama pursues this train of thought. Mannat Murad aptly portrays that life events such as not getting married at a “socially acceptable age” can take a toll on mental health and must be treated professionally to avoid making life miserable for that person and the family.
Baray Bhaiya – A Force To Be Reckoned With
Baray bhaiya is another dramatic saga who cannot accept Mannat giving more importance to her husband and in-laws. Again, though exaggerated, his character and scenario symbolize how a girl’s family can’t understand why she prioritizes her husband and her in-laws over them, putting her in a fix.
Thank Goodness For Niggi!
Niggi seems to be the only positive soul in the household. Thank God she had a conversation with Mannat as no one seems to be doing that. She made the right choice by telling Mannat what really happened, to clarify the misunderstanding between Mannat and Murad.
Now that Mannat knows Murad left because of her, would she try to apologies to him?
Great Conversations!
The argument between Azra and Athar highlighted what men and women really think, their reservations and misgivings towards each other. It was an interesting way to communicate the conversation to opposite genders watching the drama.
We hope Faysal is not making the wrong decision by accepting the promotion. Looks like Itrat’s behavior towards Murad’s situation has made him take this decision which he believes will be good for his career. A man can clearly tell when a woman is interested in him. How Faysal is not able to sense this is slightly hard to understand, or maybe, he is trying to ignore it.
