If Pakistani Dramas have a narrative, it is that the girl and boy meet, fall in love, want to marry and then, either the “other” love interest interferes in their plans or it is the traditional samaaj ki dewar that kicks in.

Burns Road Kay Romeo Juliet took the latter path but what sets it apart from every other Pakistani drama on air is the following stand out moments.
Read on as we tell you more:
1. Super Direction
From the action scenes to the emotional buildup and all the cute romantic moments in between Burns Road Kay Romeo Juliet has delivered. Farhad fighting off street goons, pinning Saqib against the wall, then doing sweet things for Freeya as he gets her flowers, bbq and malpuras with a drop dead lovable card to uplift the occasion was just so endearing. Every Gen Z would be ready to follow her heart with a guy like that! Agreed?
We say yes!
2. Storytelling Hits The Right Spot
From Farhad’s father disowning him to his taya advocating for him, to Freeya’s family disowning her to Shaggu phoppo’s heart pounding for her, Burns Road Kay Romeo Juliet presents a well rounded depiction of desi family dynamics – not all black and not all white, yet intense reactions from parents are balanced off with empathy from other family and friends. Isn’t that why we’re finding it so relatable?
3. Oh The Performances!
We can’t thank the makers enough for casting Iqra Aziz and Hamza Sohail in a fresh onscreen pairing that’s hitting it out of the park. While Iqra, as usual never fails to deliver a true to life performance, she is matched by Hamza’s action moves, romantic gestures and comic timing that makes this drama a complete entertainment package!
Watch because you’ll learn how to fall in love all over again!
4. Spotlight On Communities
It is so uplifting to see the makers shedding light on the Memon and Gujrati speaking communities amidst us. No drama thus far has picked up on the nuances and subtle lifestyle dos and donts of these communities. We often come across parodies or a comic representation of the same, but never a full scale drama that caters to the finer insights that portray how families hailing from these communities are both different yet similar to others.
Well done there BRKRJ, a first of many guests we hope!
5. Striking The Fine Balance Between Comedy & Sober
Burns Road Kay Romeo Juliet strikes a fine balance between giving us quality (not slapstick) comedy and a message driven narrative. From Shaggu phoppo’s late marriage to marrying out of the biradari to Freeya and Farhad reaching each other the ABCs of malpura, red kurta, BRKRJ has struck a great balance. Not to forget Jojo who makes us smile whenever he appears on screen.
No character is not there for a reason and BRKRJ is telling a story that is set apart from the storytelling mode we see onscreen.
It is unpredictable, funny, meaningful, dramatic, and definitely worth your 30 minutes screen time.
